After reading some of these posts, I propose that we open a conspiracy theory only forum. This way all the black helicopter looking alien ships wil have some place to post evil messages of joining in hidden human sacrifice in the back woods behind all the elementary schools in America.

No, I don't think that would be right. Lets all just keep our eyes shut to the possiblity of evil people in the world doing evil things to good people. That way we can all agree on the same scripted news stories we see everynight, and we won't have any need to discuss anything in any forum. We will just do whatever we are told with out asking questions or trying to find answers. Yeah...that's it.

Owls were used on the first coins minted in Greece (600 BCE) as were Tortoises (580 BCE) in Lydia.

First human head/figure in 540 BCE in Persia.

Owl was symbolic of Athena, patron goddess of Athens, for Wisdom. It is not evil, it is the personification of wisdom.

Have you not ever heard of them called "Wise Old Owls"? I have heard that more than the evil alien brain suckers some have connected them to.

Plastic owls designed to frighten birds from windows, cherries on cherry trees etc. Appear to be evil?

    ONLY TO A BIRD BRAIN!

Am I the only one who thinks this entire conversation is silly?

There was a most magnificent owl at the supermarket this afternoon. He was a real beauty. There is an owl centre about 3or 4 miles away from us, and by coincidence it is quite near to one of our favourite garden centres too.
(The one where Rob can get 10% off all purchases on Tuesdays 'cos he is 60 ) :D [IMG]

The owl was a pagan worship symbol, esp. in the OT. At one point, King Solomon participated in worshipping an owl god (Molech). Yes, it's true. What the person who started this thread is intimating is that there is a worldwide conspiracy instigated by "illuminati" type figures who all worship this same owl god and have implemented his deity-like image on our currency (there is an owl on US currency, by the way), the layout of Washington, DC (actually, it does look like an owl from magnified satellite images), and other things. That's what this thread was meant to convey, FYI.

Please provide a credible reference that Molech was an owl-god.

I'd like to see it. Really.

Practically everything we know of the natural world has been a pagan worship symbol at some time somewhere. There have been proven instances where pagans have worshiped American bombers that crashed on their islands. Doesn't mean they're pagan gods.

The Hindus consider the cow holy. I find cows (especially in Chik-Fil-A and Blue Bell ice cream) advertising funny beyond belief.

Is there not room for perspective here?

Lots of things look like lots of things. Ever look at clouds? What if I see a cloud that looks like an owl? Or a tortoise? Or a cow? (Guernseys are my choice, but you can't get black-and-white clouds, usually, except in Tornado Alley.)

As for what the thread was meant to convey, I understood that from the beginning. CT is always easy to believe, and when you disagree with it, well, that's just proof that you're part of the C.

So was the Eagle. But they're not evil, and they make a pretty spiffy national symbol

So was the cat. But they're not evil, and many Christians have one.

So was the dog. But Dog spelled backwards is God, which explains why they love their masters unconditionally.

So was the fish, but I just ate one with chips.

So was the cow, but they're not evil either. In fact, my men's Bible study group had dinner last week at the Outback Steakhouse.

So was the whale/dolphin/porpoise. But many Christians have Wyland prints.

So were planets, but planets are not evil either. In fact, many Christians own Mercurys and Saturns.

Got you there. There are Three Cats Who Have Agreed to Live with Us, and I can assure you they are evil. Just ask them.

P.S. Don't let them know I sent this message; I am safe for now, for they have spent the day fighting over food, sleeping, spitting up hairballs and other strenuous activities and do not know I am posting. If they ever find out that, yes, I like cats, but with cream gravy, there could be serious consequences.

One drew blood just tonight because I presumed to scratch behind her ears.

Which brings to mind this question:

What does an agnostic dyslexic stay up night worrying about?

Answer: Is there really a Dog?
