This is the very best article I have ever read on the disparity between the high-speed rail system of China and the any-speed rail system of America. And why America is on the wrong track. A lengthy but very readable article. Having often ridden on high-speed trains in China in our years working there - and then comparing with our Amtrak experiences - I agree totally with the main points expressed here.

Right, that is why they banned eating peanuts on airplanes, the air filters prevent peanut oil vapor from affecting other passengers!!

Though the carrier does not serve peanuts on its flights, it does offer mixed nuts to its first-class and business-class passengers, making it difficult to guarantee that passengers won’t be exposed to nuts during their trip. Effective Dec. 12, the carrier will allow passengers with nut allergies to board early to wipe down their seats.​
