    Dick Cheney would veto any bailout bill, and I doubt he would push for immigration reform. I would have liked to try his version of true conservatism instead of this compassionate conservatism the liberal G.W. Bush rammed down our throats.

    I think you're wrong about vetoing the bailout legislation, don't you recall him telling the congressional GOP's they would forever be known as the Hoover party? Not only did the bill have his support, he encouraged others to give their support.

    If I'm not mistaken, during Bush's second term, wasn't Cheney a stand in president for a day or two while Bush was having minor surgery?

    I will look into that. But my knowledge of Cheney is that he is a true conservative, and that's why we never saw him.
