Bannermaker program freeware?

    I managed to create a Christian website at solidrockfaith.com at a very low cost using mostly free downloads (HTML editor, FTP program, Real Producer Basic, XnView, etc.)
    Now I need to work with banners and buttons and there is a program called BannermakerPro which is exactly what I needed. I have used the 15-day trial version twice, but at $39 the program is above what I can afford. Does anybody know of any free banner editing programs that one can download? Any freeware programs that are similar to BannermakerPro? Thank you for any hints or help in advance.
