    Say....
since this is a place of Gathering for GOd's followers, why don't we start a fellowship here? Who would like to be the choir director?

Why not? I'll be the song director.

You know the saying, "Online, no one can tell you're a dog". Well, online, no one can tell that you can't carry a tune.

ROFL... I can't sing a bit but every now and then I'll start up a song in Church. I have a couple of mothers in the Church that always say, "bless his heart, but he tries so hard".

haha, well my sister actually made it to be a song leader with hafley any musical training! She chooses the songs for the evening service, that is. Next I guess is responsive readings, and um tithe collectors?

Don't know what kinda church you're going to have, but it's not a NT church. Women usurping leadership over men, and going for the OT tithe (never taught in the NT and unrelated to God's church).

That's two strikes agin ya already, man! How 'bout a preacher with a bow tie?

That should be strike three for certain!! :tongue3: :tongue3:

Now as we organize, adopt a constitution, take on a confession of faith, etc., etc., ad inf., ad nauseam, the REAL question becomes, "What do we name this church?" Typical Baptist ways are to number it (usually First Baptist of something, because Second is, well, second) or to locate it (such-and-such street).

So shall we be the First Baptist Church of BaptistBoard?

Or how about Information Highway Baptist Church?

Parenthetically, oh why oh why are so many of our churches skittish about spiritual-sounding names? Go to the Lutherans, thou sluggards, and see what names can communicate!!

The meeting is called to argue ... er, I mean, order.

I'll be the Party Pooper. :tongue3:

Why is this in the debate forum? Shouldn't it be down in the Fellowship Forum in "Other Discussions" or somewhere like that.

I'm not into fantasy churches, so I won't be participating.

I would hate to see how we would: appoint elders, pastors, much less conduct a baptism or Lord's Supper.

    ;)

actually, with a webcam cat room set up all these problems could easily be fixed. But with all this brotherly interaction going on now thru forums like these...e-Churches (or should we call it iChurch?) is the final step into the digital age
