Post 22 of this link: Pastors wife works on Sunday
- it was brought up about eating out on Sunday:

1) by eating out on Sunday - are we preventing some from attending church?
(this includes working at gas stations, and other non-emergency business)
IF so - then are we wrong for doing so?

When I was in Germany, we would often go to the mess hall on Sunday after church.
It could be said that the mess hall has to be open for those living in the barracks -
so the cooks would have to be there even if we did not eat there

2) I have heard that a waitress hates to work on Sunday because Christians are horrible tippers.

The answer to no. 1 is yes. You are wrong if you criticize the people who have to work. Otherwise I realize that things come up and it is helpful to be able to eat out.
The answer to no. 2 is yes again. It's shameful. The worst that I saw in this regard was one time at work I tried to steer a conversation in a spiritual direction and the tech told me "let me tell you about Christians. My daughter worked at a restaurant and somebody didn't like the service they got and they left her a 1 penny tip (so she would know they didn't just forget) and a gospel tract.

I knew a retired Pastor years ago that refused to eat out in Sundays. The reason, he said, was that one Sunday after church he and his wife went to a restaurant. He joked with the waitress that she should have been in church that morning. She told him she had to prepare the food for all the Christians after they finished judging everyone that didn’t go to church.

Peace to you

Yes. One rule I have always lived by, even though I don't think it's Biblical, is DO NOT OFFEND THE PEOPLE FIXING YOUR FOOD.

We have more than one church in my home city that have restaurants in the church. Of course they call them dining halls as if that makes a difference.

Having said that I do not assume that everyone that works on Sunday is a Christian or thinks they need to be in church. Correct me if I am wrong but did none of the believers in Paul's day eat? And if they did where do you think the food came from?
