Although I posted a lot of the recipes, they are not all mine, I picked them from different posts on the BB and posted them here so all recipes would be in one place. I made the mistake of not adding who posted which recipes, so if you see something you know you posted and would like your naem added to it, please pm me with the name of the reicpe and I'll make sure you get credit.

    Easy and very pretty salad.

Cook brussel sprouts until tender. Add Cherry Tomatoes. Mix with oil and vinegar or your favorite dressing and refrigerate until cold! It tastes GREAT and looks so pretty in brightly colored bowls.

Katie, I'm going to make that cornbread salad. Mmmmm And we had the ribs again this past Friday. Yum Yum Yum!

Thank You Sherrie for posting the Gumbo receipe. It was very thoughtful and kind of you to post it for me.

That looks like it takes some doing too. Wow it's a long one. No wonder Blackbird is so fond of it. Sounds delicious.

(Still waiting for ribs to go on sale here Katie. They are terribly expensive!)

    SKILLET FUDGE

    2 1/2 cups sugar
    1 stick margarine or butter
    6 ounces canned milk
    6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 cup pecans or other nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Chop nuts and set aside. Mix sugar, margarine/butter, and milk together in a heavy skillet and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and cook six more minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat, and add chocolate chips and chopped nuts.

Stir until fudge begins to form. Then quickly add vanilla flavoring.

Drop fudge on wax paper with a teaspoon. Let cool and store in an airtight container.

    TIPS:
Mix soft margarine/butter and sugar together BEFORE adding milk. Add more chopped nuts if desired.

    Audzy, hows this?
    Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

    2 cups sugar
    1/2 cup milk
    1 stick margarine
    3 to4 tablespoons cocoa
    1/2 cup peanutbutter
    2 1/2 cups instant oatmeal
    1 teaspoon vanilla

Boil sugar, milk, margarine, and cocoa for 1 1/2 minutes, start timing after mixture starts to boil,(I have found I need a little more time, I usually go for lik 8 or 10 minutes, you'll have to pratice). Rem9ove from heat, add peanut butter, oatmeal and vanilla. Mix well, then drop by tablespoon on wax paper. Let cool.
Most people drop them on baking sheets, I used foil.

Gwenyth, I found a few for you. Don't know if this is just what you are looking for or not.

    No Fail Fudge

    Ingredients

    1 can Eagle Brand Milk
3 (6 ounce) packages chocolate chips
    dash salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 cup nuts (optional)
    Method
Heat milk. Stir in chocolate chips until melted (stirring constantly).
When all chips are melted remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and salt. Add nuts. Place waxed paper in pan or dish (preferably 8 by 8 by 2 inch). Pour fudge mixture into pan or dish and smooth with spatula. Set in refrigerator to cool for at least 2 hours. When cool, turn upside down on cutting board. Remove waxed paper. Cut into desired pieces.

Katie, do you just put the wax paper on the bottom of the pan? I see to remember mother would butter her waxed paper. I haven't made fudge in MANY years! I love divinity but the humidity here makes it hard for it to harden up.

Diane, you juts lay the wax paper in, the candy will lift right off of it. Everytime I've made it, I just dropped it by spoonfuls on a baking sheet. And I did drop it on wax paper I think.

Thanks Katie! I'm going to make some for all my company that's coming.

BTW... do you Tea / Coffee Stain your material before you cut out the pattern or after? Also, do you fill a sink and completely cover it? I like the look of your dolls. I'm going to tea stain and make an old looking Raggedy Ann and have never stained muslin before.

    Thanks,
    Diane

I just got this on the web today.

    Easy Bake Toffee

    Ingredients
    1 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
    2 1/2 cups chopped pecans
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Lightly butter a 9 by 13 inch pan. Place butter and brown sugar in a heavy, medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
Stir in 2 cups pecans. Pour into the prepared dish and bake 15 minutes at 375° F. Remove from oven and sprinkle with the chocolate chips; when soft enough to spread, spread evenly over toffee. Spread remaining 1.2 cup pecans on top. Let cool completely, then break into pieces. Store in air-tight container.

    Enchiladasfrom Molly

    1 lb ground beef browned
    1 chopped onion
(Cook these 2 together until meat is brown, drain)
Put back in skillet with swiss cheese or longhorn cheese(I use about 5 slices when using swiss) Let the meat and cheese heat up together until it is a creamy meat mixture.

Then take 12 fajita size flour tortillas, fill the tortilla with meat mixture, roll tightly and place in long baking dish-13x9 pyrex works well.

Cheese sauce-I mix in sauce pan:
1 can cream of chicken soup
    1/2 pound velveeta cheese
    5 oz can evap milk
1 small can chopped green chiles
Mix together as melting on stove top.

Pour cheese mixture over tortillas and bake covered with foil,30 minutes on 350.

They are sooo good! We LOVE mexican food and I have tried lots of enchilda dishes, this one is so good! You can also use chicken instead of beef...but the beef is better IMO.

I've been buying that Progresso potato with broccoli and cheese soup because I love it, but it's really expensive..I think about 2 dollars per can. So I decided to try to make some on my own, and it turned out to be delicious. So I thought I'd share it with all of you.

5 or 6 medium sized potatoes
    small box frozen chopped broccoli
    shredded cheddar cheese
    splash of olive oil
    1/2 stick butter or margerine
    small carton half-and-half
    salt to taste

Dice the potatoes up in small cubes, cover with water, add the splash of olive oil and some salt. Boil until potatoes are about half-way done, then add the chopped broccoli, turn the heat down, and continue boiling. When potatoes and broccoli are done, drain most of the water, then add half-and-half, butter, and cheese. Simmer until the cheese and butter are melted. Add more salt and pepper to taste.

If you like broccoli soup you will love this, and it's super easy!

    Diane,
Believe it or not I just saw your post. Sometimes I make the doll and then spong stain on it, or I have boiled a big pan of tea and soaked the muslin, then hung up to dry, and then made the doll. There is some difference in results. Makeing the doll then staining her will make her look really old, and a littel dirty, a well used doll. Soaking and staining teh muslin before making the doll will help her have an all over just about even stained color. If you go to ebay and do a search for primitive doll, you see a lot of the dolls stained after they were made, we call them ugly, which is good thing. So it just depends on how aged you want her to look. Sorry I missed you before.
