According to BBC Anchor Katty Kay, Europeans have to get used to terror attacks like the Manchester bombing.

Kay told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Tuesday that Europeans have no choice but to get used to terrorists murdering their families because “we are never going to be able to totally wipe this out.”

“Europe is getting used to attacks like this, Mika. They have to, because we are never going to be able to totally wipe this out,” Kay said.

Uh no it is not the obvious, no one has to get use to terror attacks. What we need to do is destroy terror. Bring it to an end. Not just "accept" it.

You can't eradicate it. It's a part of the human condition. It's like saying we need to destroy sin. Yes, we do need to destroy it and we must strive to, to minimise the risk. But it is both naive and hubristic to think we can destroy it this side of the eschaton.

Then explain, pray tell, what your grand scheme for the elimination of terrorism looks like. Cos it ain't going so well at the moment...

Terrorism is an act of war and should be treated as such.

First we do not have the attacks you guys have on that side of the pond. Neither do we welcome high risk people on to our shores and boarders at the level you good folks do. We do not let them flourish.

Secondly, go after them where ever they are and destroy them. Trump has begun doing a good job at that after our last failure President let them flourish elsewhere.

Do not allow payments to terrorists families.

Europe is doing all the wrong things then they tell everyone to get used to the slaughter of innocent people. What does that even mean and what actions would that attitude provoke?

To me is says do not criticize terrorists, and do not go after them.

Not going to happen here I can tell you that.

So why didn't you declare war on Saudi Arabia after 9/11?

Then you misunderstand what the statement means: it doesn't mean fatalism, toleration or resignation but, rather, a sober assessment of reality. It is best summed up by the uniquely British expression "Keep calm and carry on".

I grew up in a military town during the height of the IRA's terror campaign. My home town was on its list of targets. That meant we had to be a bit more vigilant plus put up with being stopped and searched by soldiers and police. But it didn't mean we ran around gerbilling in terror either. We got on with it and realised it was part of our reality. Similarly my parents and grandparents endured the Nazi Blitz.

So, the only thing these days that scares us Brits is running out of tea....or the prospect of our train being cancelled and having to take a replacement bus service. Our alert level has been increased from 'A Bit Irritated' to 'Jolly Annoyed' about terrorism. Yes, we will mourn our dead, perhaps more poignantly as so many of them were so very young. But then we will pick ourselves up and carry on with business as usual, aware in the background that another attack is likely, and doing our best to foil it.

Oh and, BTW, we didn't invite the perp into the country: he was born and raised in the very city he bombed. So let's slay that particular straw man whilst we're at it.

But you voted for them. And your President just visited Saudi, the home of Al-Qaeda and covert backer of ISIS.

As did, shamefully, our Prime Minister recently

Or..................................it means lets just settle and do little to nothing about it because we cant really get rid of it anyway. Either way it is a stupid statement and does nothing to encourage anyone.
