You beat me to it Bible-boy [IMG] Have been thinking about a Benny thread for a while [IMG]

This example of "sound doctrine Hinn style" is from Oct.13,1990.

Hinn claimed this statement as "revelation knowledge", but when later questioned on it it turned out to be just regurgitation wreckage (why haven't I thought of that phrase before :D ) from the writings of Finis Dake. When the heat came on Benny quickly added a line or two that boiled down to "just joking" to explain the comments. A few weeks later though he seemed to almost suggest a "just joking" about the "just joking".

Benny's new years eve parties are something as well. Here are a couple of his prophecies from Dec. 31st, 1989

You think he would have given up attempts at prophecy after that, but no, here is a more recent one from April 2nd, 2000.

Benny's continual false regurgitation wreckage rantings (both teaching and prophecies) are a sign that he is not "anointed", rather he should be avoided. I pray him and his fans will come to see the dangerous path they are on and teach sound doctrine...not this rubbish from an unsound mind ;) (sorry, was too good a line to waste ;) )

Just had to look at Acts 26:13-15:

13"at midday, O King, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining all around me and those who were journeying with me.

14"And when we had (V)all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the (W)Hebrew dialect, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.'

15"And I said, 'Who are You, Lord?' And the Lord said, 'I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.

Now, do we see anything in the verses above that is like what happens at a Benny Hinn show? No, there is no comparrison at all. Yea, all the people with Paul, including Paul, fell to the ground. Read above, there was a light that was so bright that Paul says it was brighter then the sun. Has anyone looked at the sun lately? Guess what, you can't and this light the people saw was brighter then that. They clearly hit the ground to dodge the light. I have seen Benny on TV and the only light in the place is from the auditorium lights and the light that reflect off of his pure white suit. By the way, I saw him take his suitcoat off and start swinging it at people and they fell down. I don't recall Jesus taking his robe off to make Paul and his friends fall down. Also, ALL the people with Paul fell, again, because they had to because of the great light that shown around them. At a Benny Hinn show, just a few fall down. Anyway, trying to compare what happened to Paul and being "slain in the spirit" is clearly a major stretch, at the very least. Plus, Jesus then spoke to Paul directly in a voice Paul could hear. Do we think that everytime Benny waves his magic suitcoat around that the people falling are talking with Jesus?? Well, I hope I made my point, sorry about the sarcasm. I actually feel sorry for Benny Hinn. He has no clue of the judgement that awaits him.

    In Christ,
    Brian

I love Benny Hinn. i have been to one of his crusades and foud that his crusades are Jesus Centered and the woship is Jesus Focused.

For those that do not like him i challenge you to pray for him.
I also ask you to ask God if you are misjudging him.

His mannerism may be different but so was Elisha's mannerism's I imagine Naman probalby thought Elisha was srange but he was healed.

As evidenced in a post above, there's a HUGE difference between Elisha and Benny Hinn:

    Elisha's prophecies came true.

What does the Bible say about prophets who's prophecies are false?

    Don,
First of all I will ask you have you prayed for Benny Hinn?
If you have a problem with him have you ask God to judge your heart in case you have misjudged him?

Does Benny Hinn claim to be a prophet?
God can show us things and we can see through a glass darkly. That does not mean that we have prophesied falsely.

Some of the excerpts from his statement:

"SO, I'M BENNY JEHOVAH!" (Spiritual warfare seminar, May 2 1990).

"Say after me: 'Within me is a God-Man.' Say it again. 'Within me is a God-Man.' [Congregation repeats.] Now, let's say even better than that. Let's say, 'I AM A GOD-MAN.' …This spirit man within me is a God-Man. …Say 'I'm born-of-heaven-God-Man. I'm a God-Man. I'm a sample of Jesus. I'm a super being'" (Praise the Lord, TBN, Dec 6 1990).

"Jesus was born again [in hell]" (Our Position in Christ #1, 1991, audio-tape).May 2 1990).
When you say, 'I am a Christian,' you are saying, 'I am mashiach,' in the Hebrew. I am a little messiah walking on earth, in other words. That is a shocking revelation. ...May I say it like this? You are a little god on earth running around" (Praise-a-Thon, TBN, 6th November '90)

    Eliyahu,
Calling someone the AntiChrist is a very serious accusation.
Think about what you just wrote.

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Benny Hinn is both a false teacher and an antichrist. Note I did not say "the" antichrist, but an antichrist. He is "against" Christ. He denies his deity. He denies the trinity. He denies the atonement. He is againsst Christ. He is an antichrist. He deceives many, just as wolf in sheep's clothing. Beware of him.

I have the conviction that he is one of many Anti-Christs mentioned in 1 John.
Read thru his statement and watch what he is saying on TV, begging for the money. Did any apostle begged for the money like that?

You should learn how to discern.

I'm not one to make a judgement on Hinn's salvation. In fact, I have no problem waying he's probably saved. But the fact that Jesus does for him does not excuse his fraudulent antics, which are so abundantly apparant.

I don't question his salvation. On the other hand most of what he says could easily be labeled idiotic.

I have a question. If Benny Hinn can turn on the healing every night in a coloseum full of people (while passing the bucket) why can't he instead spend his time at childrens hospitals healing all of the kid's diagnosed with terminal diseases. I do not ever remember Jesus in the scriptures telling people "Just plant a seed and you will get your healing". I don't remember Him ever saying "Throw me a few shekels first, and I will heal that withered hand." Benny Hinn is a disgrace! Nine parts to the Godhead? The Holy Spirit told me so? I don't remember Jesus ever telling the rich man "Get some more Mercedes, a bigger mansion, armani suits and a collection of gold Rolexes, and make sure you stay in the best hotels and fly the concord wherever you go". Here is what He said:

Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me.

Mar 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

Benny Hinn has been warned and exposed on many occasions without any sign of repentence. He is to be treated as a tax collector.

    atestring & Boanerges,

Rev. Hinn preaches salvation by grace in all of his international crusades along with blessing people who receive a touch from the Holy Spirit as believers. Does not the Bible say that one saved soul is worth the value of the whole world?

I believe that many are healed and many merely experience the overpowering Presence of God the Holy Spirit. If that is not the greatest blessing and miracle, nothing else is.

Are we to think, if we are a Calvinist that no Arminian styled preacher is being used to save souls?

Are we to think, if we are an Arminianist that no Calvinist styled preacher is being used to save souls?

On this basis we would say each other's theology is in error. Likewise, Rev. Hinn may not agree with your theology but the question remains--has Hinn touched people with the Christian faith?

    I say, Yes.
