I’ve learned a lot during the past year reading the diverse viewpoints presented in this forum.

What do you think were the best of the BaptistBoard Bible Versions/Translations forum this past year?

    Nominations can be for:
    Your favorite thread
    Most interesting or informative
Thread that best displays the ideals of the Baptist Board
Most unique, a thread that opened new lines of thought.
    Or any other reason

Later in December we may have a poll to list the top five in each category.

I nominate for "Most interesting or informative"
topic in the Bible Versions/Translation Forum
the topic: Is your Bible Inerrant? [IMG]

This topic shows the views of over 50
Baptist Boarders and can be perused at:

    http://www.baptistboard.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=001037

    The most popular (42%) is:
3 The Bible is inerrant in the original autographs

Which i personally find strange, seeing as how the
original autographs are not available for inspection.
But what is good for the goat ain't necessarily good for
    the sheep.

I find it hard to believe that 3 people (aledged Baptists)
don't even believe in any form of inerrancy for the Bible ??

I don't even believe that 4 people believe this:
5 The Bible is inerrant only in the KJV 1611 (exclusive of translator notes)

I've been kicked off a King James Bible Only-ist (KJBO) site
for quoting the actual KJV1611. Most KJBO's use
the KJV1769, of course, without those pesky translator notes.
I've searched (using Google recently, older search engines
eariler) dozens of sites containing the "KJV 1611" term
and none of them have any verse from the KJV1611 but usually
    from the KJV1769.

The second most popular position with 13% of the vote is:
10 The Bible is inerrant in all English translations
Oh, that is my selection [IMG]

I applaud the group for not falling for my two
"the Bible is inerrent as implemented". For the message
is inspired, not what we do with the message.
