1: I know Bob & Pete are not the same person, but voted that way here as all cabbies are equal [IMG] (With the Orwellian addition that "Some are more equal than others" ;) )

2: I'ld guess at Bob. A combination of factors here. First one is I only work Tuesday and Wednesday nights 9 months of the year. Second is Yanks have been conditioned to tip, Aussies wait for their 5¢ pieces :( [IMG]

3: Voted Bob here. Never getting caught is urban myth...I've been booked twice in taxi in 11½ years of driving. Hopefully Bob has had even fewer run-ins with the boys in blue [IMG]

4: No option for both here, so I went for "Are you kidding!!!" [IMG] I give freebies now and then, not always the short jobs either.

5: Yes, for sure Bob. We need to edjamakate these non-cabbie members of the BB [IMG]

    Great poll mate [IMG]

Ben, a tip here is usually "Be good to your mum", "Look both ways before crossing the street", or "#8 in the 5th..." [IMG]

    Regards
Bob - the only taxi i drive is the free personal one for my kids ...

And I would never ride with a cabbie who wears a bow tie! :D [IMG] [IMG]
Pete, do remember what rule number that is for cabbies?

BTW, Pete next time you get in the cab, why not drive over here to Syracuse? [IMG] [IMG]

Our base has ties they tell me...I don't recall ever seeing one of our drivers in one though...Definitely not on myself or any of my mates anyway [IMG]

why not drive over here to Syracuse?

I would if I could [IMG] Bit of a swim for a taxi though, and from personal experience taxis are just not made to go through water... ;)

You can't hire a cab driver for like 60 miles around here. We are 60 miles from everything except Walmart. And McDonalds, that is pretty much our whole town. You could easily walk any where in town. By the way, my cousin lives out in CA, and says if they speak English you are lucky!

    It's a toss-up. They're both ornery! [IMG]

Pete, I think IAB is messing with us. I never have heard of the word ornery, have you?

I am proud of the job we do in spite of the stuff we have to put up with.

    You are correct, Pete. [IMG]

ornery: Mean-spirited, disagreeable, and contrary in disposition; cantankerous.

Hmmm, maybe a little disagreeable. [IMG]

But y'all still qualify for the name 'brats'. [IMG]

§ue (respects you both, but has to tease you)

    The best taxi driver is:
Pete....for tonight anyway I think [IMG]

Wasn't much of a start....Averaged around $15/hr for first 5 hrs or so of the shift. Then went ballistic and ran at $65/hr for next 4 hrs.

Tomorrow night is State Of Origin, night could go either way....ask me in 24 hrs or so [IMG]

Enjoyed reading this. Didn't vote because I'm not here often enough to know you both, web-wise. But I do have a taxi story. Twenty-six years ago we were in Taiwan adopting a baby girl. They don't drive there. They aim. Accidents are hourly affairs. No taxis have springs left.

Except one. One not only had its suspension intact, but had air conditioning and classical music playing softly. I was ready to LIVE in that cab! I tipped him really big, hoping he would maintain that cab for others who needed a break from the incredible roads and drivers in Taiwan!

Helen, For whatever my opinion is worth, I would highly recommend you vote for boB. I understand he lost his last election, so he needs to win this one for his self esteem so he can get rid of that bow-tie!
