    Biden: I'm friends with 'an awful lot' of Somali cab drivers

    Washington (CNN)Vice President Joe Biden says he has strong relationships with Delaware's Somali community because "there's an awful lot driving cabs" and he's made friends with them at the Wilmington train station.

    Biden's comments came on the first day of a White House summit focused on countering violent extremism, in a speech in front of state and local law enforcement officials from across the country.

    We have a lot of Somalian taxi drivers around here, too. Also, Ethiopians. The modern world is a shock to them. They get a lot of traffic tickets for obstruction of traffic because there are so many taxis and so little business that they stop wherever they are if they see someone hailing them. Most of them are friendly guys. I imagine that the bulk of their business in Indianapolis is from downtown to the airport--perhaps 12 miles or so.
