Big Win for Churches as Judge Rules Wisconsin Ordinance Violates Religious Freedom
A Wisconsin judge has ruled that a De Pere city non-discrimination ordinance cannot be applied to churches and other faith-based groups.

The ordinance, which was approved last year by the city council, labeled religious organizations as places of public accommodation. That means churches would have been in danger of discriminating against transgender and gay individuals if they preached that God determines gender and prohibits homosexuality.
"Court finds that churches and their campuses are not public accommodations and the city of De Pere's ordinance infringes on the freedom of religion. Court grants plaintiff's motion for summary judgment and denies defendant's motion to dismiss," Judge Atkinson wrote.
Meanwhile, city officials have opted to remain mum until the city council reviews the decision.

The left hates Christianity but is forever trying to bend churches for their economic benefit. Years ago D. James Kennedy told about a Presbyterian church in San Francisco that fired a homosexual piano player who was not even a Christian. It touched off weeks of demonstrations, property damage and threats. The Salvation Army had to force a government ruling that they are a church. AiG under Ken Ham has been under constant attack from atheists for asking employees to sign a statement of belief as a condition of employment. The atheists say that he takes tax money because Kentucky gave him an exemption from sales tax temporarily as a start-up as Kentucky does for all major tourists attractions and museums. The atheists are even holding a convention in Cincinnati this Easter and are planning to cross the Ohio River as a group to visit the Ark, causing great security expense to AiG. The American people squander so much money attacking Christianity over and over.

I'm glad for the victory but worry that this indicates a direction towards where we are headed.

Certainly it is better to win a case like this than to lose, but I suspect you are right -- this is a not an end of such problems, but only a beginning.

Why do we accept government's coercion of other business owners to support Sodom?
