Blame the tiger keeper!

Yeah, it's Bush's fault. He didn't regulate those greedy bad boys and girls on Wall Street. Now that the wonderful O is in office though he's going to make everything ok.
But, wasn't it the 'tiger keeper' who told banks who they had to lend too, forcing them to give loans to folks who had no business getting a loan in the first place? Yep, I'd call that regulation all right. How about liberal stupidity? That sounds better. Slobbering Barney should be proud of himself for helping to cripple an otherwise stable instution.

Once again a blatant example of liberals inability to make legitimate comparisons.
For liberals who lack common sense tigers can't be blamed because they do not have the ability to think as we do. They run largely on instinct.
People, however, can think for themselves. This idea that government is the keeper of men who can think for themselves is completely idiotic. Time discredits itself by publishing such inane drivel.

I was hoping this OP might start a rational conversation. I kind of expected it would bring some hysterical replies ... and so it has.

It is quite rational to discuss the false analogy. How about addressing it.
Exactly. It was the liberals that pushed for banks to give loans to pretty much anyone that walked in and wanted a house. When their socialistic agenda blows up they blame someone else.
The tiger analogy is too myopic. Maybe if you talk about how the ship capasized because of the continual negligence and passing over safety measures...but the tiger thing is too limited.
Besides the whole crisis isn't just a creation from the past 8 years. No the economics of this thing go all the way back to the S&L scandals in the early 90s, LTCM, contagion, globalization, and the deregulatory insansity of "contract with America" folks. This isn't just about President Bush and his administration from the past 8 years. It's so much bigger than that.

It started with Jimmy Carter - to Clinton - ignored by Congress despite Bush warning them about the problem several times.
It was pushed along by Dodd, Barney Frank, Obama and a host of others.
Now they all want to pretend that they were merely spectators to the mess that they created.
President Bush (43) is just as complicit as the rest. You can't reasonably take this back to Carter though. Bush (43) didn't warn and didn't act as aggressively as he could. Honestly, his push for housing for all is really what exacerbated the crisis.

So...are we to understand that companies that are attempting to make profit are inherently evil and destructive? Are we also to understand that government is solely interested in preserving our health and well-being?
And since profit is evil...why not have government control all companies, at all levels? Since companies that strive for financial success are inherently evil...shouldn't government go ahead and determine what wages we should receive, etc.?
Wouldn't it then stand to reason that the countries with the most heavily regulated businesses are the best ones?
So...Ceauşescu and Romania, Stalin and the Soviet Union, Albania, Kim Jong-Il and North Korea, Myanmar...these are the cream of the crop, no? After all...they best "tamed the tiger."
