Boom: Record 27 million guns bought in 2016

Driven by terror threats and a potential Hillary Clinton administration, sales of guns in America soared to record levels in 2016, according to the FBI.

Just released FBI background check numbers, which roughly equate gun sales, totaled some 27,538,673, 4 million more than in 2015 and nearly double the number in President Obama's first year.

The numbers do not include many guns sold to or given to friends and family.

Add 25%-50% to that to account for multiple and private sales.

What will the poor gunmakers do to gin up sales without Obama and Hillary?

Smith and Wesson (or whatever they now call themselves) could start by getting rid of those stupid trigger locks.

Good question. Colt went through bankruptcy last for putting all of their eggs in one basket (government contracts), while ignoring civilian sales during a boom cycle.

And there are enough good parts out there, that you can piece together a quality AR-15 for 600 bucks or so.

Colt could begin making affordable Single Action Armys. Ones that do not cost a hand or a foot.

It would be nice to have one with the Pony, but at a Uberti price.

I thought of one day splurging on a USFA for my single action itch, but they went out of business.

I am not familiar with the quality of their revolvers, but there would be a certain cool-factor of where they were built.
