On a more serious note, it might help if everyone in the country were given a free in depth DNA check so we would all know exactly where our ancestors came from. I think it would be fascinating ... don't know how much one costs. I figure a whole lot of us would be in for some surprises.

SMH. The type of ignoring of the truth displayed by this post is why the network was probably started.

White people are complaining about these new channels with majority minority lineups because they heard the talking points on talk radio which has freed them up to angrily question the same things.

A United Negro College Fund? What would they do if we had a United White College Fund?

NAACP? What would they do if we had a NAAWP?

Miss Black America Pageant? What would they do if we had a Miss White America Pageant?

BET? What would they do if we had a WET(White Entertainment Television)?

We would have to be smoking crack to not admit that the majority of tv programming in the United States is geared towards appealing to the majority white population and thus that's who networks looking to make money are putting onscreen.

It's silly to think that Blacks and Hispanics and Asians don't want to see programming that depicts their heritage. People want something to which they can relate and there are folks out there who see the need and realize that they cn also make a profit while filling that need.

Melting pot? Is that why we have four over the air channels in Spanish? And is that why we are starting to get commercials in Spanish on our English over the air channels? Is that why our OR Obama care website has a Spanish counter part? (Even though those looking at it think some of it was translated from English to Spanish with Google translate

The majority will always think t's a melting pot as long as they are the majority in the pot.

It's kinda like folks asking why black people need a Black History month if there isn't a White History month without considering that for 400 years practically every month in the education system has been White History.

SO what they want to start a channel that appeals to Blacks. It just isn't a big deal.
