The term is quite subjective, to say the least.

Why not welcome a new poster with a little more grace?

I think you misunderstand what RevM is saying. When he says "Bush is a liberal" in the context of this thread he means that President Bush is a Theological Liberal. RevM is not speaking of President Bush's political position in this thread.

I'd have to agree. President Bush is a Methodist (a liberal mainline denomination). He admitted last night that he is not a literalist when it comes to how he reads and understands the Bible. He admitted that he does not think that Creation is at odds with evolution (i.e. he's a Theistic Evolutionist). Likewise, he affirmed (once again) that he is a Universalist regarding salvation with respect to Muslims and Jews. These are all liberal Theological positions.

Seems like a week excuse in favor of the Bible contains untruths. Is that what you are saying?

Because the first thing I saw him or her do here was complain. Why shouldn't new people post with grace ?

And just what, exactly was ungrateful ? He stated he may not stay, due to the discourse. I asked him a question. Seems fair.

But I know how people here like to point there bony fingers at "lesser" Christians.

Bush has been a liberal president. There was a conservative on the ballot this year, at least, but we still have a lot of work to do.

This statement is pretty clear and it's the third time he's said it so I don't think there's any question about his belief.

The president also said that he prays to the same God as those with different religious beliefs.

"I do believe there is an almighty that is broad and big enough and loving enough that can encompass a lot of people," Bush said.

He's wrong about that, as well. He tries to hard to please people.

Satan was the one that told the big lie to Eve, however the Bible just made reference to it. I do not believe the Bible tells lies, only what happened by Satan, Human flesh, and probable the human nind.

To your question, yes, it seems that politicians has a good nack at lying.

    "In the beginning God ..."

It says what it means and it means what it says. The Bible is the inspired word of God. It is the truth. It is superior to all the ideas of mankind.

We don't want him, he's the GOP's. He used his religion to get the GOP to put him in office now we learn he doesn't believe all the Bible is true.

maybe all this has been blown out of porportion.Maybe I mistook your meaning that you had meant it another way. I thought you was saying that the Bible contained lies by it author and not looking at the means in which lies had been told by various means. Sorry, I don't to accuse you as saying that the Bible did the lying.
And to all others that I may have misenterepted wrongly

I will give you another example of what I was trying to say. After Cain killed Abel God confronted him:

Genesis 4:9. And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?

Cain lied. God the Author of the Bible provided a true record of Cain's lie, just as He provided a true record of Satan's lie. I hope that clears up any problem.

I believe in the plenary [full and complete] verbal inspiration of Scripture. That is, God caused certain men to record Scripture in its entirety in the language and the specific words that He desired. Therefore, Scripture is the Word of God! Perhaps the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy expresses it best:

    1. God, who is himself truth and speaks truth only, has inspired Holy Scripture in order thereby to reveal himself to lost mankind through Jesus Christ as Creator and Lord, Redeemer and Judge. Holy Scripture is God's witness to himself.

    2. Holy Scripture, being God's own Word, written by men prepared and superintended by his Spirit, is of infallible divine authority in all matters upon which it touches: it is to be believed, as God's instruction, in all that it affirms; obeyed, as God's command, in all that it requires; embraced, as God's pledge, in all that it promises.

    3. The Holy Spirit, Scripture's divine author, both authenticates it to us by his inward witness and opens our minds to understand its meaning.

    4. Being wholly and verbally God-given, Scripture is without error or fault in all its teaching, no less in what it states about God's acts in creation, about the events of world history, and about its own literary origins under God, than in its witness to God's saving grace in individual lives.

    5. The authority of Scripture is inescapably impaired if this total divine inerrancy is in any way limited or disregarded, or made relative to a view of truth contrary to the Bible's own; and such lapses bring serious loss to both the individual and the church.

She was not complaining. You assume intent. She was laughing. Compared to me, President Bush could probably be considered liberal. However, having just come from a secular message board, President Bush is quite conservative. I suppose it depends on to whom you are comparing him.

As I am new and getting to know everyone, should I assume you are always so blunt?
