In a previous thread, Dragonfly sung the praises of Al Franken, and talked about owning his books.

I presented Dragonfly with the following information:

*****

OK, here's some more source material for Franken's antics:

His filthy articles about $exuality & the like are in Playboy. I ain't a-linking that here. :D

In the 1995 New York magazine profile of "Saturday Night Live," Franken jokes about raping several of the cast of "60 minutes."

Respected journalist Katherine Kursten of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Tribune documented Franken's lewd and blasphemous comments.

It is, as I stated earlier. Here you go: STARTRIBUNE story.

(story contains blasphemous references to Jesus and Mary Magdalene; Franken talks about selling the bones of Jesus; He refers to God having "his head up his [behind]," and more...)

******

It has been ignored, so I ask again:

Dragonfly, you apparently support Franken, and aren't bothered at all for what he stands for. Now that you've been confronted with this...what say you?

...Does your conscience bother you when you find out that you support this kind of "statesman?"

...Or is it more important for you to "make a point," than to distance yourself from someone as perverted and blasphemous as Franken?

...Or will you simply ignore this, now that your position has been called out?

Bumped, once again, for Dragonfly.

Will you be mature, and address this?

Keep on bumping, if you want, but I don't let others, especially strangers decide what I will and will not respond to. In fact, it would do no good to play your game. Regardless of what I say, you will find fault, so you will have to decide for yourself how I feel about Senator Franken. :tongue3:

That is untrue.

You have made it abundantly clear how you feel, as you brag about owning his materials.

I'm just curious as to whether or not pornographic, or blasphemous statements he makes bother you enough to quit singing his praises...I find it pretty astounding that on a Christian message board, there would be someone who isn't bothered by Franken's antics.

Your statements (and even the lack of them) reveal a great deal about you.

Thanks for enlightening us on this.

Translation:

I cannot justify my position that will put it in a positive light so I will abstain.

I'm not sure why you are surprised that someone who is willing to vote for the party of abortion would also be willing to vote for a politican of smut.

Not true! I don't live in Minnesota; I haven't voted for Franken once in my life. However, without knowing anything about the issues there, I usually vote a straight democratic ticket. Although I do vote for republicans sometimes. I voted for Reagan in 1980 and McCain in 2008.

I stand corrected and will rephrase my response accordingly.

Rbell, I'm not sure why you are surprised that someone who is willing to vote for the party of abortion would also root for the election of a politican of smut.

I guess it's that I find it disconcerting that proof of Franken's proclivity for perversion and blasphemy don't seem to bother Dragonfly at all.

I guess I'm just not as spiritual as you are.

I know if you let rough speech bother you, you better not work in a machine shop around here, you would not last a week.

So being exposed to vulgar language at your job is your excuse for bringing it into your personal life voluntarily ?

Yea, I guess you are correct after all, no republican would ever use course language, right.

BTW, did you support Cheney when he told a member of congress to "blank off?" How about President Bush when he made crude hand gestures to the camera? Do these things bother you or are you only incensed when it is a democrat?

It bothers me when anyone uses vulgar language. That is why I don't go out of my way to seek it out.

What draws you to it?
