Here is another one we share written by a Catholic priest Fr. Joseph Mohr.

    "Silent Night! Holy Night!"
    by Joseph Mohr, 1792-1848
    Text From:
    THE LUTHERAN HYMNAL
(St. Louis: Concordia Publishing House, 1941)

    1. Silent night! Holy night!
All is calm, all is bright,
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child.
Holy Infant, so tender and mild,
    Sleep in heavenly peace,
    Sleep in heavenly peace.

    2. Silent night! Holy night!
    Shepherds quake at the sight;
    Glories stream from heaven afar,
    Heavenly hosts sing, Alleluia.
    Christ, the Savior, is born!
    Christ, the Savior, is born!

    3. Silent night! Holy night!
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
    Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.
    Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.

Just one for the 1941 Lutheran Hymnal. The 1942 Handbook provides interesting information on all the hymns that were included in that hymnal.

We do share many hymns. The Lutheran Hymnal alone has 46 hymns translated from the Latin and 9 from ancient Greek. As the Handbook says, "the children of God of all ages of our Christian era and of all Christian lands have by their sacred song given splendid evidence of the unity of the saints."
