This post is for those who use modern versions. Those who are KJV-only are kindly asked to post otherwise.

Hello, friends. I wanted to write this post to ask all of us to begin avoiding a certain poster here who has in the last week moved towards ad hominems, snide remarks, insane posts, and otherwise. It is an attitude unlike Christ (who never acted like that), and I believe that we should move to not having anything to do with him.

I want to encourage everyone here to refrain from replying to anything that Quickening Spirit has to say for a while, perhaps two weeks or so. I believe that he needs time to cool off, as do those of us who have responded to his bait. Let us leave him alone and ignore what he has to say, as it is in no way productive.

I don't know if this is allowed on Baptist Board, so this may be deleted, but I want to encouage ALL of us who disagree with Quickening Spirit to just leave him alone to his own devices. There are much more fruitful discussions to make and have with those who believe differently than us. None of us should be subject to his misogynistic, antagonistic, fruitless rambings.

    Thanks!

    Scott Emerson Clark

At first I couldn't believe my eyes when I read this yesterday...but I see it's still here! Shame! Shame!

After what has just taken place with the new one, I hope QS will stick around...& any others who feel as strongly as Bro.Tim. He was refreshing!

My hide is tuff & half the time the things y'all say to me flies right over my head, as I don't have a clue what you're talkin'bout. [IMG]

I am & was KJB-only, when "ONLY" wasn't "cool". [IMG]

C'mon! Scott? Is that a relative word to any conversation other than the fruitcakes or psycho-semantics are known?

Thanks, Granny Gumbo! You're my kinda "cool"!

Scott is really saying, "C'mon, guys, let's ignore the Truth QS is spreading and heap to our selves teachers having itching ears."

Do yall really believe he'd ask yall to do this?

We'll soon find out won't we?

Scott, I'm for your suggestion. I was already mostly doing that already. [IMG]

Granny, yes they are refreshing. As refreshing as a mouthful of sand, and twice as pleasant. At least Will's posts are good for something - insomnia.

So since you say what I have said is in no way productive including what you have responded to what I've said? Hmm? Never looked at it that way. and NEVER WILL!

    Scott,

I certainly understand your point of view. Much of what QS has posted recently is incomprehensible and I am not able to respond to it in intelligent manner, but I like the guy [IMG] and I want to be careful no to hurt him in any way. Therefore I am going to have to pray about your suggestion.

QS isn't so bad - at least the guy is consistent. When he first started posting I thought he was a little wacko - now I think he just has a fairly large flair for the sarcastic!

Now BTB, the "email guy", well...

By the way did any of you guys open the email he sent. I didn't yet! I'm afarid the devil might jump out into my room! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Allow me to clarify - I'm not advocating that we ban him from the board, although I am surprised that he has not faced any kind of disciplinary action with all of the ad hominems that he has engaged in. I'm not pulling for any kind of "excommunication" either.

However, several of us have approached him on the boards letting him know that his posts have shown an incredible lack of Christian love and have been full of "misogynistic, antagonistic, fruitless ramblings." I'm just suggesting that those of us who do use the MV refrain from answering any of his posts for a period of time, so that he may understand the seriousness of his mean-spirited posts (and that a smiley face doesn't give someone a license to engage in ad hominems).

Just thought I'd clarify. Thanks to those who are already helping in this area.

    Looking forward to fruitful discussion,

    SEC

    Dear Scott,

I understand your frustration brother, but I repectfully decline.

I don't believe QS is mean-spirited, insensitive and unknowingly inconsiderate, yes.

I'm gonna excercise my ol'Christian liberty to thank everyone of the friends I have here and I am not out to make any enemies or try to cause everyone to lean my way.

Besides, if you obey the Lord you don't have any enemies, except for one, that's the devil, so don't behave like one. [IMG]

I guess you could call me a MVer, although I still use the KJV as well. I don't necessarily endorse snubbing any particular member; I just avoid discussions that have clearly gotten out of hand. I know in my heart that the Lord has not declared one single version as the only Word of God, so I see little reason to get worked up about it. I enjoy the KJV, and I enjoy NASB and ESV. If some disagree, that's no concern of mine, since their opinion has no effect on my life (or mine on theirs).

Noamd, I see your point, but not much savour in that sort of salt if your opinion doesn't set the example.

I in no way am attacking anyone, I just see the need to be a savouring salt, not just look like it. ;)
