Can a Christian sin?

    I don't question the Bible. God says: "I remember them no more." Do you question God? Do you question his Word? You can take your argument up with Him. I am only the messenger.

    Having said that we know that God is omniscient and knows all things. The "remembering" is judicial. It is like putting the sins in an envelope and sealing it, forever removing it from your criminal record.

    HP: God’s Word makes no such claims as you are preaching. Your position sustains absurdities. God is not absurd and His Word does not support absurdities. You may be a messenger of your own theological ideas but Scripture in no wise supports your claims.



    HP: Tell us DHK. If all our sins are forgiven, past present and future, and God has forgiven and forgot them as Scripture plainly states, is God a liar when He brings them up in the process of chastisement? If not why not? Maybe He opens the envelope ever so slightly to just take a quick peek. (?)

    1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

    Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

    HP: No, as a matter of fact it is not. There is not one of those passages that support your theology. Show us one that states that all past present and future sins are forgiven, and then answer the question as to how God can remember sins that He has forgotten in the process of chastisement.

    I believe that what we might need first is for one of our resident GK scholars to enlighten us as to the meaning of the word 'remember.'

    Amen, and amen!
    Anything else is not the Gospel.

    Many think they are going to Heaven by their "Sinless life"...
    Only to be surprised when they wake in Hell...

    If a person doesn't trust Christ COMPLETELY, they don't have saving faith, and will end up in Hell. That is the Bible...

    Jesus saves me completely! Past, present, future, inside, and is working on my outside. He began a good work with Justification, empowers me to grow like him through sanctification, and one day will complete what he started through glorification at the resurrection.

    If a person feels they can lose their salvation.. they don't trust Christ completely....

    HP: Surprisingly enough, all my Calvinist friends would say the same thing. :thumbs:

    So, you can commit any sin known unto mankind and God gave you that ticket to commit those sins. What makes you any different than the world. Salvation is of the Lord, not you. So, i see no difference whatsoever between you and the world, if you commit the same sins they do.

    "go and sin no more". Hollow word to you no doubt.

    Only thing is if they commit ever sin known to mankind, they are still of the world.

    1Cr 6:9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

    So, you say that you are righteous, even though you commit the above sins. You say you can commit adultery and sin against God and your own body and still be righteous. Silly doctrine.

    Some will be surprised alright, but I do not think it is those who lived a Christian life and not a wordly life.

    You say they are never to be remembered against you, they you say that you must confess them. Double talk.

    HP: How does that answer anything?? Anyone can claim that verse for their support but is still does not clear up the absurdity of ones position.

    Have I not heard you tell others that simply listing Scriptures does not necessarily support ones interpretation of it? Pick out your favorite verse and then show us that the word ‘all’ necessitates all 'past present and future sins' to be forgiven……and then tell us how God remembers sins to chastise us for, when Scripture tells us that those He has forgiven us will NEVER be remembered against us again.

    No, some are past; some future; some present.
    Let's take a look at this verse in Ephesians:

    Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

    We have..that is right now or present tense.
    Jamieson, Faucett and Brown say about the phrase "forgiveness of sins"
    If all of our sins: past, present, and future, were not forgiven by God, then the demands of God could not be satisfied, and our sins would not be atoned for. He atoned for them all, not just some of them. Therefore we have "the forgiveness of sins." His blood was sufficient for them all. He paid the penalty for all my sins, not just some of them.

    1 John 2:1-2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
    2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
    --The word "propitiation" means "satisfaction." It is a legal term. The demands of God were legally satisfied with the blood of Christ. He paid for my sins, and for the sins of the whole world with the payment of his blood. That met the demands of God. He paid the price of all my sins: past, present, and future.

    Read my previous quotes. I already explained to you how God does not "remember" our sins. Why should I do it again.

    How come the chastisement. How come the sin unto death, an early death you say? You speak with double talk also. First you say they will not be remembered, then you say, God will take your life for eating the bread unworthily. That is double talk and not consistant.

    So now you are saying the "whole" world is saved.

    Demand to Him and rebel against his authority just like Lucifer did.
    Who are you to question God.

    It is absurd for you to say: "Maybe God opens the envelope..."

    HP: Now it would seem to me that the verse you quote DHK should raise a red flag in the minds of every honest seeker of truth in light of the position you have taken. Your position is that when Scripture states ‘all sin,’ that it means ‘all past present and future sins’ have been atoned for in a literal sense and that they will never be remembered of the one to which the payment was made. Then you post the following verses. 1 John 2:1-2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
    2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

    HP: If your theory is correct one would be forced to conclude that God has forgotten the sins of every living person, never to be remembered again. Tell us how you can avoid that completely logical conclusion from your stated position.

    God didn't say all your future sins were already cast into the sea of forgetfulness, you did and others. You have said they were never to be remembered, they you say, because of eating the bread unworthily, you die an early death. Double talk.

    Do you believe in John 3:16?
    Did Christ die for the world or not? "For God so loved the world..."
    Do you believe those Scriptures?
    Quote me where I said that Bob, or don't misrepresent me. I never said that.
    Finish John 3:16
    "that whosoever believes in him....
    I am sure you know the teaching of the verse.

    BBob, Don't quote it if you don't mean it. You are talking aobut the sins of the whole world, being legally satisfied with the blood of Christ, read it. Then change it to what you feel it better as you always do.

    Bob, we are talking of salvation, or at least were.
    Why are mixing this up with the Christian walk, a totally different subject.
    Stay on one topic--preferably salvation.
