    There was an old radio program in which the announcer would begin the program by saying....

    "Summer is here and gone"
    "Winter is coming on"

    And then he would sing...

    "I'll travel the last few miles on my knees"

    Can anyone remember this program?

    I listen to a lot of old time radio and that doesn't sound familiar.

    However, I also listen to a lot of old country music and can tell you that that's from a gospel song of the same name by Governor Jimmie Davis, who also wrote, "You Are My Sunshine".

    It was covered by Hank Snow and, I believe, Eddie Arnold, among others.

    I'm drawing a blank on the name of the show, but if it's a specific show, then I wonder if it's the one Hank Williams performed on as his alter-ego, Luke the Drifter (The Pet Milk Show, maybe?).

    I don't know about the show in question....but that ^ is "U.S. Blues" (my favorite on the album "From the Mars Hotel").

    Mine, too. I got to fill in with a friend's band for a couple of gigs while their keyboard player was out for a couple of weeks.

    That's one of the more fun songs to play.
