Nothing like stradling the fence. Care to elaborate for us?

    This thread is in
violation of the spirity of the BB rules.
    However, by couching itself as
    "in God's will", it
meets the letter of the BB rules.

</font>[/QUOTE]That's good... I didn't want to be in violation of rules or anything... it's just something i've dealt with on numerous occasions.

    God bless

My answer is "NO!" for several reasons: First, KJVO is a proven false doctrine. Second, there were legions of English-speaking Christians long before the AV was made. Third, it's a matter of personality plus God's will for the individual that determines how close one is to God and not the BV(s) he/she uses, and last, God has an overview and a love of the whole world and every person who lives upon it. He's NOT limited to English users or one English version of His word.

How can anyone judge how close another is by the Book he carries??? Sorry, ya'll, but that is just about ridiculous.

I am a staunch anti-KJVO. I am not against the King James Version, however. It is the bible that I carried for many years, it is the bible that I read and studied as a young Christian. But it is not what I carry now.

I normally use the NKJV. I still use the KJV, along with the NASB. But to question someone's walk with God because he/she doesn't use YOUR bible is simply loopy.

There is no Scriptural basis for the KJVOnly position. It is a man-made doctrine, and it is false.

I would not put a King James in the hands of a newly-born Christian. I would use a NKJV at least, or something simpler, so they would have a chance to actually understand what it says. Yes, it is the Holy Spirit that illuminates the reader, but it helps if the reader can actually read and comprehend what the words are saying.

Yes, I can be in God's will and support modern versions.

    In Christ,
    Trotter
