Can't Do That!

    So for all of you wanting to use scripture from any bible version other then the KJV (because it isn't copywrited) please obtain Express Permission to do so by the copyright or trademark holder.

    Unless otherwise stated, any work of the Holy Orthodox Church may be freely destributed so long as it dose not exseed 60 pages in length. This includes, but is not limited to referances to church services, church history, and church teachings.

    Come to think of it though hasn't it been mentioned somewhere that "the crown" holds copyright of the KJV in commonwealth countries?

    I think the NIV allows use of a certain number of verses....as long as you put NIV in there....and the number of verses doesn't make up more than some percentage of the work....and it isn't a rainy day within 3 days either side of the full-moon on the first friday of any odd month and....

    I don't believe in copyright anyway ;)

    Gekko, have you taken the task of Administrator on? Or, have you been asked to make this announcement?

    Some Bible Versions do not require "Express Permission" to post a small number of verses...

    Some are quite liberal...

    Others are somewhat restrictive...

    I do not believe that Zondervon is going around counting verses on this forum though...

    And, if they do find fault with our quotes...

    Rest assured they will make their wishes known and request the Administrators ask us to cut back...

    To date, I don't know of any site that has been pinged on by Zondervon for excessive uses by outside posters...

    If things get too 'strange' we can always link to the Bible Gateway...

    Read the front of any modern version they give one permission to quote quite a few verses from the text.

    But He did mention that those publishers that are charging large sums for Bibles to send Him His royalties. He is still waiting. [​IMG]
