Carjacker to be charged in two counties, other man will not

(OLIVE BRANCH, MS 10/29/2007) When a carjacker put a shotgun to the head of 71-year-old Bobbie Gray's head and stole her car from her Olive Branch home....Keith Gray didn't just get mad, his brother, Lance, says he got even. "It was protecting my mother as anyone would have done in the same circumstances."
Gray chased 18 year old David Andre Bates down Stateline Road in his black Maxima. When he caught up with the carjacker police say Gray fired several shots as he was driving. One shot hit Bates in the hip. The others shattered the cars windows right behind the house of a woman who only identified herself as Pam. "It sounded like two gunshots and I didn't want to come outside and look and be in the middle of what's going on."
