You specifically said "murder". Servetus was not murdered.

First, it was not a murder.

Second, Calvin didn't sentence Servetus to death.

Do you think that if John Calvin disagrees, the Catholic Church will listen to him. If empire and pope impose any law, how powerful it is. A nothing is Catholic Church believes that killing heretics as doing God's service.
It seems like you know nothing about John Calvin or the history of protestants. Don't ask me to show them in Bible.

This people don't even cared for life for the Testimony of Jesus Christ and to the WORD of GOD.

A surgeon's scalpel hurts as well, but we know that he is trying to help us and not hurt us. Jesus indeed gave the Jews hard sayings (John 6:60) but He was never hateful. There is a big difference.

You have failed to make a biblical case.
Man up and present what you believe is truth.
Do not be shocked when people disagree....expect it.
Time and the devil will tell if you have truth or error in your posts.

His whole gig seems to be, "If I call Calvinists enough names and throw enough straw man arguments at them, I'll look like I know better than them".

Unfortunately, he just comes off as a fool.

Sometimes people are in churches that teach against the truth.
So they are eager to make sure calvinists know that jn 3:16, and their other 5 verses are in the bible.....once the Cals answer they are back on their heels...so they play the calvin burning servetus card.....some might bring up Leighton Flowers....lets blame God for mans sin card...lol...no wonder they are confused

Murder is the unlawful taking of another life. Calvin did not "sentence" Servetus to death, but surely voted for i. He could have abstained. Stop trying to defend the undefendable here!

Sounds like me when I was in the Word of Faith cult. The only difference is that I didn't call people names.

More excuses for the man! Wow, what lengths some will go to, to defend their "hero", even when he has done very wrong.

Then, by your own definition, it was not murder, as it was not unlawful.

How nice for you. It isn't your translation. It's how you speak to people.

Well we are sorry to see you go... But let me tell you a story that happened to me... I had a neighbor who was a Jewish man and him and I got into a conversation one day... How this topic came up I don't recall but it centered around how does a Jewish believer find a Rabbi?... He told me a young Jewish man will be reading the Torah and have a thought and he will search out a Rabbi that believes the way he does... So I asked him well what if he is reading and has another thought, the Rabbi he found disagrees with?... Well he said he just goes and finds another Rabbi?... This is a Baptist Theology and Bible Study Forum so I know no Rabbi is going to come on here and say here agrees with what my Jewish friend told me... The moral of the story is this not everyone on here is going to agree with what everyone says, even those is your own camp there will be disagreements... No one is holding you here you are free to go but the sheep in the other pasture eat the same grass... You just think they don't?... Go find a Rabbi that agrees with you!... Brother Glen:rolleyes:

    Another one bites the dust!

thanks. I am not quitting because I can't take the heat, but because I had about 5 important posts deleted because someone was "offended" by me having an opposite view! This is very unchristian and childish, especially I was never told what was wrong with my posts?

you mean having a confidence, being forthright and honest, though tough with the truth in hand? little kids who don't want to scrape their knees, should not play with the adults!

You know the truth, but find it hard to admit because of Calvin.

I have asked more than once for anyone to show where in Romans 9 "election to salvation", not "service or works", is even mentioned, and no one has done so. All you guys say is, Romans 9! I argue tough because I don't like to pussy-foot around with the truth of the Bible. Honest is better than anything else, and it can hurt, sometimes, very hard.

Actually, this board is very charitable towards differing positions, heck, we even allo those such as holding to both RC and SDA theology post here, and that is FAR worse than reformed/calvinist theology!
