No qualifications? No understanding of dealing with children with mental health issues?
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. We have three counselors at my school and they are highly trained and have proved to be invaluable.

The controversy revolves around three bills: One mandates the display of the Ten Commandments in public schools; another allows school districts to require local campuses to set aside time for staff and students to pray and read religious texts; and a third allows administrators to furnish schools with chaplains in addition to existing counselors.
1) Display 10 commandments --- Not a big deal
2) Set time for students to pray -- Not a big deal
As long as students are NOT required to pray
3) Furnish Chaplains - Acceptable provided parents know who the chaplain is- ie faith, ect.
and again not required ---

huge deal. I do not want anyone teaching children about The Law of God who are not converted and a lot of other stuff! What are they going to teach them about The Law?

Spiritual comfort is found in true believers not in the governmental establishment of religion.

And I fully agree! Thus the reason that the parents should know who the individual pastor is!
Some will say that the counselors are much better an better educated. Well, what comes to mind is what my
dad used to say "Educated Idiots"
Those "certified" counselors - Are they pro-abortion, do they endorse situation ethics, do they think (reasonable) corporal punishment is illegal as well as a host of other beliefs. Is that "counselor" even Born-again - let alone a Christian? I would want my child to know that there is someone in that school that he could trust!
KEY CONSIDERATION - Parent involvement!
