Has anyone read Anne Rice's new book in her "Christ the Lord" series? The Road to Cana covers a two or three month period in the life of Christ that begins just before his baptism and ends with the wedding at Cana. Although written as a work of fiction, the story is true to the events related in the four gospel accounts of Jesus. Rice has done a masterful job of taking the events we know according to scripture and weaving them into a story that keeps your attention and presents you with a way of thinking about these events that you never considered before. As with her earlier work, Out of Egypt, Rice tells the story through the eyes of Jesus, using the first person singular. A rather ambitious undertaking but I think she pulled it off quite well.
