Christian Art

    I didn't want to post this anywhere but here because I wanted to see some good sites to christian art. When I was in college I took a couse in the history of art and noticed all the old masters used religious themes in their art. These today are considered masterpieces in the art world. Though I am not an artist I do appreciate good art. The city morturary Greenwood Mausoleum has many painting and sculptures and if you want to see good christian art its the place to go! They have a life size replica of the Pieta!

    I have a couple of Howard Finster prints. Does that count?

    His "Last Supper" is really good.

    Either way, it's a fantastic site, and just the sort of thing we eggheads like for classroom powerpoint presentations.

    Aha, I see I'm not the first person who instantly thought of Howard Finster when the words "Christian Art" popped up!

    Finster is the coolest. I don't care how weird it looks, I'll take it over Thomas Kinkade any day.

    His "Last Supper" is really good.

    I don't think I've seen this one. Is there an image on the Web anywhere that you're aware of? Certainly there's nothing on www.finster.com.

    If we as Baptist can see past the "image", here is the most beautiful piece of Christian art in the world, bar none (IMO).

    Bumping this up for the new Website Design/Development forum. Many of the older paintings found here can be used for graphics IF there is no private copyright on them. These graphics also make beautiful wallpapers for your desktop. Simply right click an image and select "set as wallpaper" and your computer will have that image as your desktop wallpaper!!!

    If it is too distorted, go to Start &gt; Settings &gt; Control Panel &gt; Display &gt; Background

    Then play with the settings dropdown box. [​IMG]
