Sorry, I won't do your homework for you. You gotta read it for yourself. I read War and Peace in August 1962. How do I remember that? It was the month I was married and I had several weeks of free time before I returned to James Madison University.

While reading the Russian authors don't overlook:

    Crime and Punishment
    Dr. Zhivago
The Brothers Karamazov --- lots of theology in this book.
    The Grand Inquisitor

those are to begin on, there are others everyone should read.

Hmm, what does your reply have to do with the topic of this thread?

Doing your homework is unethical. Oh..........I no longer have homework ... other than writing my memoirs in a senior citizen memoir class.

Care to get back to the topic of the thread?

Obviously, these ultra-right wingers are wrong. They should get plenty of years in prison to contemplate their mistake.

I was just looking at their website and I'm wondering if the charges were fabricated? Not that I agree with this malitia group. But when the news first came out it claimed that this group was anti-Islamic, then anti-semetic, then finally last night it was about trying to kill a cop. The story wasn't consistent. I wonder if there is a constitutional issue here.

Before the charges were made public I read it was rumored the group was anti-Islamic. I had not heard anti-semitic. I doubt they were anti-semitic as that flies in the face of fundamental theology. Seems they have bought into the anti-government philosophy the fanatic right-wing is so shrill about.

Wow...now there's a shock: Crabby trying to link these folks with conservative citizens.

Now that I've called you out on this cheap shot, will you be taking another "vacation?" Or will you go and start another thread about the same thing, and leave this thread? (Don't it just beat all when folks figure out your M.O.?)

No, but I'm not being intellectually dishonest and trying to link them to a group of people with whom I disagree, either.

They're unhinged rather than fundamental. I personally believe this to be more of a product of extreme reaction to Rapture Eschatology than anything else. Kind of like the SDA were waiting for the return of Christ on their rooftops after selling all their possesions leaving them destitute.

That could be part or all of it. Maybe more on their beliefs, both political and theological will come out. Should be interesting.

Isn't it funny that all militias are right wing. In fact these two seem to always be associated with each other. Right wing militias
Are there not any left wing militias, or are we waiting for Obama to establish one with his campaign promise to do so?

All the left wing militia types are in office like the Speaker of the House. or Teaching colleges like Bill Ayers.

In other words, left-wing militias are smart enough to get a job and avoid getting arrested.

No. Left wing militias had practice getting caught back in the 60's and the 70's and eventually learned how they could get off by bribing or trading valuables.. They also realized that money talks and as they aquired wealth they bought off people. Most notabley the speaker of the house used this strategy to obtain more votes over the past session in the house. Fortunately she married a Real Estate/Investor/banker with loads of cash. Ayers only partly got away with it.

So, all union members are part of a militia? Are they all violent, or are they all terrorists?

Sixty years ago, this country was built by union workers.
