    Churchgoers live longer

    There are many things you can do to increase your life expectancy: exercise, eat well, take your medication and ... go to church.

    A new study finds people who attend religious services weekly live longer. Specifically, the research looked at how many years are added to life expectancy based on:

    * Regular physical exercise: 3.0-to-5.1 years
    * Proven therapeutic regimens: 2.1-to-3.7 years
    * Regular religious attendance: 1.8-to-3.1 years

    Is not evidence of any cause and effect of the health benefits of sitting through a church service. The SDAs have claimed for years that they live longer because they eat semi-kosher.

    Most church goers don't smoke or drink to excess. One can cut the odds of being murdered in half by staying out of bars and taverns.

    People with a good social network do live longer. It's good not to be isolated and to get out of the house. Church members are likely to check up on them if they don't show up and to bring them food and comfort when they're ill.

    Because Christian folks should provide for their families. :rolleyes:

    My wife and kids will be taken care of for a good while if I die. It's called being responsible.
