Does person automatically become a member of a Baptist Church after baptism or do they have to ask for membership!

Depends on the local church. In some churches it's automatic. In other's, a vote is taken and a person is taken into the membership pending their baptism. Yet, in others, the two actions are separated. All are correct.

We baptize a person on his credible profession of faith. He is then given the church constitution and basis of faith to read and if he is in agreement with both he is put forward for membership. The existing members have to vote him in (or not!).
