he chairman of the leading climate change watchdog was informed that claims about melting Himalayan glaciers were false before the Copenhagen summit, the Times of London reports.

Rajendra Pachauri was told that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change assessment that the glaciers would disappear by 2035 was wrong, but he waited two months to correct it. He failed to act despite learning that the claim had been refuted by several leading glaciologists.

The IPCC’s report underpinned the proposals at Copenhagen for drastic cuts in global emissions.

UPDATE: Apparently, the "disappearing glaciers in the Himalayas" was based on a student's paper!!

What a bunch of idiots. Glad that thinking people are wising up to this monumental hoax.

==Kind of like evolution. There will be people who hold to man made global warming and evolution despite the evidence. Why? Because they want to. Ken Ham, of Answers in Genesis, once said that he had an atheist/evolutionist say that they could dig up Noah's Ark and parade it down the street and he would still not believe. It is a choice. People choose to reject the evidence (Lk 16:31). This very morning there was a man on Fox News who said that life "was not a miracle" because we might find evidence of "alien life" on earth. Did this guy have any evidence for that? Nope, but it did not stop he from saying it. People generally believe what they want regardless of evidence. Sad but true.
