The College Super Regionals start this weekend. With Rice and Stanford already out of the picture, the race is wide open. Who do you think will win it all?

I don't know, but it should be a good series this weekend between Arkansas and Florida State. I think it is sold out, but hopefully it will be on TV.

Watch out for FSU. They have a really good team and recently beat GT two straight to win the ACC conference championship. I'll be pulling for you since I don't want UM to have to play FSU again in Omaha (assuming UM gets by Florida).

ESPN2 will carry the first two games, plus the third one if needed.

GO RAZORBACKS - MAKE IT TO OMAHA AND BRING HOME THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

There is such parity in college baseball today, so that any team going to Omaha has a chance of winning. Of course, having played for University of Texas, I'll be pulling for them to win again, but going to be hard to do this time. Look for some team to come out of the shadows and pull the upset. The Razorbacks looked very, very strong. I didn't realize their pitching was that good. I am looking forward to watching them play in Omaha.

How did Omaha (think thunderstorms and tornados) get the privilege of hosting the College World Series?

According to the bracket on NCAASPORTS.COM, the Razorbacks will play #1 texas on Friday at 1:00 pm. That doesn't look good for Arkansas, but who thought they would get this far after being picked to finish last in the SEC West at the start of the year. We can't let the longhorns win a national championship, so GO HOGS!!

    The other games are:
    Georgia vs Arizona (Friday)
    LSU vs Miami (Saturday)
South Carolina vs Cal State Fullerton (Saturday)

I guess they changed the game time. The Razorback game on Friday is at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN2.

They used to move it around, but settled on Omaha, which typically hosts a AAA team, so they have the needed baseball extras already on tap. The city loves the event and does a wonderful job hosting the event. They are trying to create the same the atmosphere with the womens softball in Oklahoma City, yet to be seen if what happens in Ohama can be duplicated. Watch for a Miami vs. Texas final.

That is correct, Ken. I got the 1:00 time directly off of the CWS website yesterday, but they either had it wrong on their site or changed it later in the day. Correct time is 6:00 pm on Friday. Thanks! [IMG]

College baseball is a great sport and the playoffs this year have been really good.

The ESU-Florida game the other night was awesome.
and I'm not a fan of either!

UM beat out Florida for the third year in a row in a super-regional, with a great game over the gators on Sunday. I think UF will be lobbying for a new super regional site next year.

This will be UM's 21st appearance at Omaha, and the Hurricanes are looking to match the football team - five national championships since 1980.

    GO CANES!

I'm hoping for an Arkansas-LSU final, keeping it all in the SEC. [IMG]

With four out of eight teams in the CWS, it will be hard for the SEC NOT to have at least one team in there. However, I'm guessing that it will Miami/Texas in the final game.

    How about them Horns?
Been anxious about CWS; the favorite seldoms wins it all. One game at a time. Don't really like this new bracket set-up, but guess it actually helps Texas. [IMG] [IMG]
