    Good morning all,

Tony, maybe YOU could run the ebay store and give Viv a break. If you do it right, it is a lot of work and can take up a lot of time. I had one back in 2002/2003. I decided to reopen it just this past week as the listing fees are so much cheaper if you have a store as opposed to listing everything on the open auction.

Well, I'm off to the Farmer's Market.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Well at least, it's as good a morning as it can be when you are Under Attack!

Yes, we have been infiltrated by.......sugar ants!

LOL! I thought I had cut the invasion short yesterday, but this morning found a new incursion into my kitchen and one of my bathrooms. Can't imagine what they are doing in my newly refinished and now beautiful bathroom. Today I'm going for the heavy artillery to get rid of them, since yesterday's warning fell on deaf ears. (do ants have ears?)

While I'm battling my children are all at school. At least for the time being. Cass and Chris weren't feeling well, but went anyway. I expect Chris to get better as the day goes by since his migraine began lifting last night. (I can always tell by how much picking he does at his sisters!)

Not sure about Cass. She got up with a migraine coming on. I gave her a zomig, which stopped the migraine, but then she started complaining that her neck hurt. She says it is the zomig that's causing it. But, she also says it hurts like it did when they first diagnosed her with arthritis. So, I apparently have some research to do. She goes to see her rhuematologist and her neurologist at the end of September. I'll have to add this puzzle to the list of questions.

Hmm, seems Cass is correct. Zomig can cause the symptoms she was complaining of. Says so right on the insert in the box, that I know I've read before (probably not for 6 months or so though). One more med to toss. I hate that!

Well off to combat the ants!

Good to see ya Tony. Be careful getting out in the heat please!

MK, got rid of those ants yet? We had some of them critters a few times when we were living in Base Housing. The first house was a two-story, and we kept cleaning up dead ants in a corner of the living room and the kitchen .. just before we moved out, I discovered where they were coming in.
Ya ready for this? Around the shower head! Started looking when I was giving the boy a bath and suddenly there were ants in the bathtub with him!

Never figured out where they were coming in. Got rid of them in the bathroom and out of the cabinet in the kitchen. Then just before church I found them in a different place in the kitchen! Those were coming in the door. They got the heavy artillery too.

Can't put dogfood out either or the ants are in it in an hour. Poor dogs are having to swallow what they want and then do without until later. Usually I leave it out for them to eat when they want.

I'm tired so I'm headed to bed.

    Good morning all,

It is hot and muggy already and it's not even 6:00 yet! I may have to turn the air on today. I can't get any work done if I can't breathe.

I had two grandkids (10 and 12) all day yesterday so I didn't get much done. I did fix 7-UP chicken in the crockpot and made two loaves of homemade bread (without a bread machine).

Brent had 'knead' as a spelling word and I figured the best way for him to find out what it meant was just to show him...

    Time for coffee!

    Wow! I'm talking to myself!

Could it be that the infamous Coffee House has outlived it's usefulness??? :tear:

Staying inside again today with the A/C on to avoid humidity. Hubby had to install a new thermostat last night. I ran the air all day yesterday and nothing was running but the fan!!!

    Morning Sue!

Maybe others are experiencing a very slow Board to-day. It takes forever to get moving.

If I ran air conditioning these days I would need a winter coat on. It is quite cool...like Autumn days for sure.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Morning Jim!

We might be having 'Indian Summer' here...

It was in the 90's yesterday and will be again today. The heat doesn't bother me as much as the humidity.

We are in for some storms this afternoon and tomorrow though so I should be able to turn the air off this evening.

I would much rather have my windows open!

    Hey Everyone!

Busy, busy is why I haven't posted. I'll explain later.

Ya'll pray for today. I'm headed to Cassie's school after having to pitch a fit at Chris' school (got the meeting they've been putting me off about though). Chris is sick with some awful virus, Cass is coming down with it.

    I gotta go.

    Miss ya'll!

    Evening Everyone!

Wow! What a week. Started with Chris having a migraine and ended with him having a nasty virus (body aches, sore to the touch, headache but not a migraine, and the highly upset stomach).

I've had ants in the kitchen, dogs that yipped all day and night, letters to write, T's car to get to the mechanic and a house that was dark all week. When the house is dark, the cleaning can't get done. I have to have LIGHT! So the house turned into a cave as the week went on.

Bright spot in the middle of the week was Wednesday church. Had a carload of happy kids after that (my 3 plus and extra) even though we didn't get home till 9:30 and T was mad (he got over it).

But, then life went on Thursday. Chris called home at 10, sick. Well, he was aching when I sent him, but I was hoping it was just from having such a busy Wednesday after having been in bed for 2 days. I KNEW better. So we spent the rest of Thursday at the doc's office. Chris is on a new med so I couldn't take the chance that what he had (only body aches and soreness then) was a reaction to the medicine. Doc was worried about it too and sent off a metabolic panel (got to wait till Tuesday for the results). She said though that she had seen a lot of folks with this virus and "I'm going to write you a perscription for phenergan and give you enough for the entire family, so you'll have enough when it goes through all of you." (she was serious. :( )

Sure enough, I got Chris home a settled and went to get the girls and Cass got in the car sick.

Now, it's been four days and I still hadn't gotten the cave cleaned up. So this morning, I sent them all to school, turned on every light in the house, opened all the blinds and got busy. By the time Chris called at 10, I had the entire downstairs cleaned. Went to school, pitched a fit about not being able to get a meeting with his teachers, met the PE teacher and talked with him, got a meeting set up with his teachers and checked Chris out (he had been in the bathroom while I was doing the other stuff).

Came home, established Chris in bed, finished the house, swallowed a peanut butter sandwich, got dressed and went to the meeting I had set up at Cass' school. Chris was closing then blinds and turning off lights while I was dressing  .

The meeting at Cass' school went wonderfully! Ya'll must have been praying hard! I have hope that at least Cass will have a good year.

Got her, came home, visited our new neighbors who just happen to also be members at the karate studio we attend and they have a boy just Cass' age (puppy love) and a girl just a bit older than Jen and then got busy in the yard. I managed to weed the flower beds and do all the weedeating in the front yard.

    Thank the Lord for PIZZA!

I was way to tired to cook!

So, how has everyone else's last few days gone?

    Morning everybody!

It's been a hectic week. I certainly hope all our migraine sufferers are feeling better this AM. I've been fighting one too -- we had a storm settle in for a couple of days, so I think that's my culprit.

School has been a whirlwind between new classes and the web. Days are way too long and I'm hoping that will stop shortly (oh please let them stop!)

Now I moderate a teachers board and we had a fellow I had to deal with -- man was he a deal. He kept calling the president a derogotory name. (one you've all heard.) I asked him not to call any one names because it was a professional board and professionals should be able to express themselves without name calling. Well it went downhill from there. He was a very knowledgeable fellow about special ed, which is why is was so hard to ban him. But he went from calling the president names to calling all elected officials names to calling another poster names to calling me names. He went on a personal campaign against me because he just knew I was only asking him to be nice because of his political views. Well, that was the last straw and he is now banned. I will admit that it did make for an exciting couple of weeks though :tongue3:

    Good morning all,

Well, I knew it would start raining today. It's the annual Balloon Fest (and Art Fair)! Sure enough, the rain started around 6:00 this morning and it looks like an all day thing. So much for fun and frivolity this week-end (and no fishing either).

Oh well, we still have the Railsplitter Festival in the middle of September. That is my favorite one anyway.

    Time for coffee!

    Howdy ya'll!

I'm hard at work again! It just never seems to stop. Now that the cave is clean, I'm working on mowing the grass. Already did the weedeating this morning and got the morning glories out of the azaleas and the swimming pool. Crazy things will grow anywhere. When they seed this fall I'm going to sow a bunch of them in the one corner of the yard that I can't seem to do anything with. If they simply cover the bare ground and the fence back there I'll be happy.

I'll be back around sometime later....

To-day was a marvellous sunny, yet coolish day. A great day for working about. I even picked some apples for some old folk in my village. I was so busy, I went to town for coffee four times to-day,,,,,,,,,hohum.......

    Cheers,

    Good morning all,

It is 70º this morning with more rain in the forecast. I am trying to see if the balloons went up this morning and I haven't spied any yet. The wind may be blowing in the wrong direction for them to come this way.

I woke up dizzy this morning (dizzier than usual that is). I started taking Dramamine right away. I haven't had this for years. It acts like an inner ear infection, but it's not. The little bubble that controls equillibrium gets off-center for some reason and the effect is devastating unless I am sitting or lying perfectly still. It's not as bad a case as I've had, but it is disturbing enough to keep me in a chair today.

Hope you all have a blessed Lord's Day!

    Good Evening Everyone,

Man, when this place is empty it is eerie.

Today is my Wife's 56th Birthday (ooops! I said 57th in the Pit Stop-good thing nothing is taken seriously there).

I made dinner(Fried Chicken, gravy and bisquits, fresh fruit salad, pecan pie and stack cake), the house is clean, the laundry is done (and put up), the dishes are done, her car is full of gas, and she has a new cell phone.

Tonight we went up to Lansing, MI for a cruise on a real steamboat, and at the end of the cruise I gave her $500.00 in cash to use in whatever way she chooses.(No-I can't just peel off $500.00 on a whim, I've been saving for this all year long.)

It's like the hair color ad.... She's worth it!

    Happy Birthday!

If it is any consolation, if it is her 56th birthday, it is her 57th year..........
