    Good Afternoon Everyone!

Cuz, I'm a bit jealous of your turkey! The biggest I could find at Christmas was 22 lbs. Since I'm sick, we aren't cooking a big Easter dinner. Instead, I have a nice pork roast I'm going to crock and either eat it as it (the kids like the plain meat) or shred and make BBQ. That and a pasta salad will be dinner.

I'm doubting today, that we'll even make it to Sunday services. This has been the worst day so far with this flu. This is the first I've been out of bed since early this morning. I don't feel all that bad, but I'm exhausted. I can take medicine for the sore throat, congestion and cough, but there's nothing to be done for the exhaustion.

AT least it's not SNOWING!!! Cuz, we're going to have to get you out of Michigan. We have sunshine and temps in the 60's. The Bradford pears and forsythia are blooming all over town. Snow would not make me happy!

    Good Morning Everybody,

Actually Cuz we have a 220# turkey. But nobody's had the nerve to call me that lately. You should have seen Brenda's face when I came in with that monster.
I, however, was in hog-heaven. a 24.75# turkey for 85 cents/lb. Funny though, all the 10-12-15 lb turkeys were at top price, and this poor thing was all by itself. We're feeding 10 tomorrow so the more food the merrier.

Your symptoms sound strangely familar.Maybe it's because Brenda is down with the very same thing. Even the same identical complaint about the exhaustion. Fortunately I'll be doing the cooking tomorrow, it's just a matter of whether Brenda feels like eating. I strongly doubt we'll make it to Easter services either. The roads will be cleared by that time, and our 22 mile drive shouldn't be a real problem. I just don't think Brenda needs to risk the trip. She has congestion in her chest and has been coughing up "oysters" all night and morning. NO!! we're not having oyster stuffing either. ;)

You come come up here and we'll go out and play in the fresh foot of snow we have. That might cure your exhaustion, but it wouldn't do anything to help your temper. We actually have over 12" where it has drifted in spots.

I'm pming a truckload of snow to Ann so she can enjoy it's natural beauty. I bet she's never even riden Whirl in the snow.

Wishing everbody a safe and happy Easter, full of love, and fellowship.

    Good morning all,

It is 32º right now, heading for a high of 45º with partly cloudy skies. All of the snow has melted and the sidewalks and roads are all dry. There is a chance of snow showers tomorrow, but with a high in the 40's tomorrow, it won't last long.

Today is 'cooking' day. We just finished making and decorating Chocolate Peanut Butter Easter Eggs and we are fixin' to start cutting things up for potato salad. I boiled the potatoes and eggs last night.

I will also make my Deviled Eggs and Dirty Pickles this morning and get them in the fridge.

I made a Bunny Cake last night. He is skinnier than he was supposed to be, but one of the cakes fell apart when I took it out of the pan. Oh well, he will taste good, and I baked some Easter cookies with bunnies on them to take up the slack.

I am making my own glaze for the Honey Ham and I will bake the ham tomorrow morning (before church) because it has to be glazed every 15 minutes, then will cover it and keep it on warm while at church.

All I will have to do after church is heat the veggies and set everything on the table.

    Busy, busy.

    HAGD!

Cuz, right now, I don't think anything is going to help my temper. I've had my broomstick out flying it around the house ever since I got up this morning to find there were no clean coffee cups! Problem? When I took to my sick-bed yesterday the kitchen was clean. I gave specific orders to a specific kid to make sure the dishwasher got unloaded and reloaded. Uh uh, didn't happen. I'm thinking I'll stay on my broom for the rest of the day. Mad has got to be better than sick!

Tell Brenda I feel for her and stay away from church! Those folks don't deserve to be infected! A 22 mile drive through the snow sounds like an invitation to pnuemonia myself. Brenda let you take her to the doc yet? The docs here are handing out antibiotics to just about anyone coming in with the flu because they are having so many cases turn into pnuemonia.

Tanya, I love your "emperor" kitty. He looks so haughty like he deserves the puppy's worship!

    Ya'll have a good day!

That's one cute Baby, and one cute pup, Tanya. I'm betting the Baby is better bred though.

Looks like the pup might have some cocker spaniel or cockapoo in her.

You're not going to be in church tomorrow, and my ailing Cuz isn't going to be in church either? I suppose I could fly in and give you girls a private audience. Why should the catholics have all the fun? I'll call myself Pope Cuz, the 1st. Couldn't you just me small statues of me on dashboards all over America?

Don't say it Cuz. I already bit my tongue. Hmmm it tastes like turkey, imagine that.

No my "dearly beloved" hasn't let me take her to the doctor yet. Sometimes I think that girl is a Christian Scientist for sure. You know what extreme faith is don't you? A Christian Scientist with Appendicitis.

I think I have Cindi's mysterious un-named kid living here too. I've walked into a few avalanches in the kitchen and dishwasher myself.

Anger is a great cure for exhaustion, as long as it doesn't include any loaded weapons or sharp objects.

 You can be the Pope if'n you want to Cuz, but I ain't confessin'!

I'm innocent now, was yesterday and will be tomorrow! That's my story, I'm stickin' to it!

T hid all my sharp objects, that's why I'm flying around on my broomstick! :D

Tell Brenda I said not to wait to long before seeing the doc. She's been sick enough this winter.

I'm off to do a haircut on Jenna. The things a mother learns to do!

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

It was the shortest pontificate on hostory Cuz. Seems I forgot to mention to them that I was married. They don't think too much of married Popes.

Our Easter dinner has been postponed until about Tuesday. I took Brenda in to the walk-in clinic this morning. The doc wouldn't come out and say she has pneumonia [she wouldn't admit it if he did] but said she has a severe case of Bronchitis. So she's on antibiotics and decongestants and is now resting [under protest of course.]

I threw together Rosemary Roasted Chicken and Potatoes with Biscuits, and Tropical Dream Cake for dessert. Kind-of a sorry substitute for Easter dinner, but it'll have to do.

I know you're innocent Cindi, never entered my mind that you wern't, of course, if your broomriding resulted in any charges you can always say you wern't your right mind due to being sick and having to cook as well. :flower:

I can cut hair and do makeup too. Trouble is you'll have to lie down and keep real still while I do. Breathing tends to scare me a bit. You might have a flat spot in the back, but if you lie down nobody'll notice. That was my job at work - to put a smile on Women's faces.

Have to go check on the patient. I wonder if 4-point restraints are in order for a bronchitis/pneumonia patient?

    Good morning all,

Well, yesterday was a very pleasant day. I ended up with 7 for dinner (3 from Indiana) and then was very surprised when 3 came up from Missouri for supper! I sure am glad that I've never broken the habit of cooking too much. :)

Today is kick back and rest up day! Tomorrow will be soon enough to get back in the daily grind...

Good Morning Sue! Good Morning Everyone!

The grind started back today for us. The grind plus this stupid flu that is still hanging on (officially it's been a week) should prove interesting!

I've managed to wash 2 loads of laundry and one of dishes (PTL for dishwashers!), eat a bite of breakfast and post here. Not to bad.

Chris is up getting his breakfast and then we'll get started on school. We have a lot to accomplish between now and SAT10's the second week in April. At least school can be done sitting down.

    Ya'll have a good day!

    Good Morning Everyone!

I'm finally feeling a bit better this morning! Yay!

Today will be fairly calm. Homeschooling, x-ray, maybe a few minutes sewing at church, hopefully NOT dealing with a stomach bug that Jenna is trying to convince that she has.

The x-ray is for Chris' hand that he tried to break (again) catching a football. It's not nearly as bruised or swollen as the last time, but it's been a week and he still won't move his fingers more than a fraction. This is like the 3rd or 4th time he's done something like this(it wasn't broken any of those times). And he wonders why I didn't rush him straight to the ER.

Coffee is hot! If ya'll are lucky somebody other than myself will fix breakfast this morning. If you're depending on me there's toast and cold cereal! :D

    Have a good day!

Good morning, Cindi and all who are sleeping in...:)

I hope Chris does not have a broken hand. I was hoping someone else would bring in breakfast also.

I went out in the wind and cold night air last night so Brent could take a photo journalism picture for the school convention and guess what I brought home? A bad cold that feels like it will probably go into bronchitis. The cough is already terrible.

I was just bragging that this is the first year I haven't had a bronchitis attack in a long time. That's what I get for braggin' I guess!

Rob, where are you when we need you???

    HAGD all!

    Good Morning Everybody,

I'm right here Sue, just trying to stay healthy. I have to drive for everybody else in the family who is sick.

Glad to hear everybody is feeling better. Of course for all who got this years flu shot, Guess what? It doesn't cover the particular strain of flu that is making the rounds now.

I think what my Cuz is politely trying to say is that with all she has on her plate today, she just doesn't have time to cook. For some odd reason I feel like baking today, so along with MK's famous coffee how about...Fresh Raspberry Coffee Cake, Fresh Orange Scones, and Apple-Oatmeal Muffins. For those of you who are feelin' sickly and need something to stick to your ribs...Pancakes, Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, and Hash Browns.

You're welcome Mercedes. All of "my" recipes come with the standard 30-second or 30 feet guarantee[ if you've had the recipe more than 30-seconds, or you're more than 30 feet away from where you got the recipe then the guarantee is null and void.]

I say "my" because most of them are from friends of mine, some I know where they come from , and some are old family recipes form my family and others' families, and some are from online or print publications.

You want some really good food though, wait until some of the other regulars in here start bringing in food. We've got some really outstanding cooks here. Compared to them I'm a complete amateur [that's why I describe myself as an intinerant cook.] Even though she'll deny it to her dying day, even my Cuz is an excellent cook. Just wait until Sue get's feeling well enough then you see some fine cookin'.

Not much going on around here. I've got to go grocery shopping and then I have therapy this afternoon. It would be so much cheaper if we lived on soup, sandwiches, and TV dinners. Unfortunately ingredients for cooking aren't given away by the stores. Wally World just called and they're having trouble making payroll this week and they wondered if I need to visit the store.

Good morning all! We had a wonderful weekend with great worship, lots of family time and nice weather (but chilly). Now I'm back to the grind of homeschooling, laundry, housework and such. My car is in the shop today for an inspection (NY state law for yearly inspections), an oil change and another set of brakes (My 3rd or 4th set and I have just 54,000 miles on it!). Oh well!

Sue - I was hoping you'd make it through this year without the bronchitis! Get to the doctor post haste to start on treatment. You need it. ((HUGS))

I left fresh blueberry muffins on the counter and there's fruit salad in the fridge. Enjoy and have a wonderful day!

    Good Morning Every.....

Ehhh Sue?, Cuz?, Ann?, Gayla?, PJ?, BJH?, Andrew? Anybodeeeeeeeee?

Wow, this place is as empty as a cave.

Well let's see I could do a song and dance on the tables, Nooo too much glass that could get broken; I could re-organize the kitchen, Noooo Sue would perform a human sacrifice with me as the centerpiece; The place is already clean must be the elves came in last night. Hummph, well I guess all I can really do is cook.

Okay, how about Stuffed French Toast, Omelettes [made-to-order], Sausage Gravy and Biscuits, Bacon, American Fries, Fresh-Squeezed OJ, and Fresh Fruit?

Today two of the Gkids have Doctor's appointments.Seems like they caught something from the Coffeehouse, or whatever is floating around Illinois, Alabama, or whatever.

The foods on, the coffees hot, and the smoothies are ready [for those so inclined.]

Guess I'll just do a tap-dance out of here, OOOFFFF!! Didn't see the wastebasket. Good thing nobody's here, cuz I tap dance like Big Ben the Bear. Now Sue can advertise that the Coffeehouse has entertainment...a Dance and Fall act.

Oh, goody! Great food and 'so-so' entertainment too! :)

    Good morning Rob and all,

Thanks for feeding us poor, sickly folks. I sure don't feel like cooking.

I plan on spending much of my day on the couch, watching TV, reading, and sleeping (I hope). Of course, I have planned that before and it didn't work out. The best made plans of mice and men...

Ya'll have a great day. I'm not gonna hang around and give everyone my germs!

    Good Morning Ya'll!

Cuz, I sure am glad you got up and cooked this morning. I'm with Sue, today and too exhausted to go far from my couch. I am NOT sick, however. This is the strangest thing. I don't have: a sore throat, constant cough, fever, stuffy nose other than general allergies (things are blooming here), body aches other than the normal arthritis or anything else associated with the flu EXCEPT if I get up and do much I get so weak that I HAVE to sit back down. It's becoming irritating. I have lots I need to get done and I need to start spring cleaning but not much is going to happen today.

Thankfully, my sewing machine requires me to sit at it so I'm going to do some embroidery work that it at the point of "must be done quickly!". I also have a few things that need to cut out and I can sit and do that as well. And that is going to be my day.

Don't know what we'll do for dinner, but I'm thinking I have a pork tenderloin I can toss in the crockpot and with some veggies cooked in the microwave, we'll have food.

Cuz, we're going to have to find you a spot to live that is close to Sue when she needs you but close to me when I need you. Times like this when we're both sick, you'll just have to double your recipes. :D

Hey, have you all checked out (Edited to remove link to another Christian Board which is prohibited by BB rules. PM Tim to get the link.)

(And no, I am not getting any kickbacks from them... I just fell in love with the idea, and the ease of setting up my page, lol)
