donnA - it's not you in PARTICULAR. It's you in GENERAL! [IMG]

BTW, everyone is jealous that you did 47 posts this morning to make the new level.

And we all know you're on the level. [IMG]

What's the record on hot dogs? The TLC had an hour special on the Japanese dude who came and ate like 48 hot dogs and buns in the time limit! Previous record was 22.5

But I've seen pix of some of the BB members and think we could work on setting a new record.

And I've also seen some hot dogs around the BB . . [IMG]

I saw the world's largest grill yesterday. They were grilling Bratwurst by Johnson Company.

This was an 18 wheeler pulling a grill made from what looked like a gasoline tanker...I hope it had never been a gasoline tanker, but any way it was huge.

    Have you all seen it?

    Good Morning All!

I had a good, restful night's sleep and am feeling much better this morning. Eye feels kind of 'itchy', but it is not hurting anymore. PTL!

    The [IMG] is hot.

    The [IMG] is steeping.

    [IMG] is ready for Donna.

I will be drinking and ice cold glass of [IMG] this morning.

Step right up folks and grab a [IMG] before church!

Good morning Sue. Thanks for getting everything ready this morning. I was labouring over in the chapel this morning. That's what happens when we have so familiar a passage.

Lovely cool day here, but warm indoors. Just the way we are as Christians...always warm indoors..now we have to work on being warm outdoors.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good Morning Jim!

You're quite welcome. Don't those donuts look good?

It is 48ºF here right now. It is supposed to be 75ºF this afternoon.

I was just reading in the paper that Nebraska broke a record for having 95ºF weather in the middle of October.

Good morning Sue and Jim! Good to see you in the Coffee House. [IMG] As you may know, my wife and I were in Europe for a week and got back sick. We got the flu from relatives and was struggling to stay afloat while there.

We had a wonderful family reunion a week ago Saturday, where nearly 100 relatives and friends showed up. Some of those friends I haven't seen in 47 plus years. Imagine them asking me, "Barnabas don't you recognize me?!" "We used to play together in the church orchestra." I used to play classical guitar then, and we had mandolins & violins. I asked them to help, and when they told me their names all of a sudden I have seen their parents. It was so funny.

While In Budapest, Hungary, we have visited three Baptist churches. They asked me to speak in one of them. The Scriptural text I used was Genesis 17:1, emphasis on "walk before me and be thou perfect!" We have also visited two other cities, and good friends we knew. One of them was a doctor couple, and they gave us some medication against the flu. The interesting thing was that we did not want to visit them in our condition and they told us that they went through the same thing just a week before. Driving in Hungary is an adventure. Many folks have vehicles, but many of them do not know how to drive, and how to be courteous. They wave in and out of the lane, and passing on a single lane when the traffic is speedily approaching. They just jump back in to the line before a head-on collision. :( [IMG]

All in all we had a great time during our mini vacation, but I can tell you it is good to be back home! [IMG]

Hello Everyone, [IMG] How are you all ?

Barnabas, sorry to hear you were ill on your holiday. What a shame. I hope you are fully recovered now.

Sue, I do hope your eye is recovering well.

Good Morning Jim, I hope you enjoy your church services today.

We had a very good teaching today. From 2 Timothy 3:14 - 4: 5. It was a guest speaker and he will be giving the teaching again tonight. And he is an Anglican.

Well, lunch is just about ready. I thought I was being efficient making it last night and Rob set the timer for me this morning and forgot to put it in the oven. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Good Morning Barnabas, Betty, and Sheila!

Barnabas: I am glad you had a great time (except for the flu), but I can tell you it is good to HAVE you back home! [IMG]

Sheila: Thanks. My eye is MUCH better this morning, still have a bad headache. I think it is from putting all the strain on the 'good' eye. I may take the patch off today...

I had to laugh when I read about your lunch. I fixed my Sunday dinner on a Saturday night once. I had my food in the oven and the timer set...I just forgot to turn the oven on. [IMG]

Boy Howdy Sunday Morning Blessing upon ye all. God is good giving another day to worship and serve Him!

Sipping my Calli and making TWO new history quizes (up soon in the poll forum) from this week. One of seven US events and one of seven World events. Those brits get testy if we don't throw them a bone.

So before church, I'd better zip and finish those little brain testers!

one PM and all is well. Has everyone behaved in my absence?

Let's see how busy we get in here. I only have until half five to-day, then evening service.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I see people go to other areas and avoid here. I was thinking about quitting here and see if I am the problem...Maybe if I stay away they will come back to here.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Gracious! I am tired! Scott, Sandra and Jack got up and left around 4:00 a.m. I had set the clock to wake and tell them goodbye and Jim must has shut it off! I woke up at 7:30 and missed seeing them off. I guess they were so quiet that we just didn't hear them leave.

I sure did enjoy taking care of that precious little one. He is SO HAPPY! Such a pleasant baby too! Nick loved it! Jon loved it! Jim loved it! Even our cat enjoyed it! Jack would make sure to drop something on the kitchen floor for Dubbs to enjoy each meal.

We had quite a day in church. Gayla and her husband arrived while I was still teaching Sunday School. She recognized both me and Jim from the picture I have posted on my profile.

Helen comes in on Oct. 30th so I'll post pictures of us with her and Barry that night. Helen has told me that she takes awful pictures and so do I! I really look about 20 years younger than the picture in the photo with Gayla (for those who know me well.... that should read 20 bazillion years younger so you'll know I'm exaggerating! LOL)

Jim! It's not YOU my friend! Gayla and I were talking today about how there are so many serious threads that we feel obligated so post on! This past week, I've had very little time to post and had to pick and choose... You are well loved here Jim!

Pretty quiet here. Back from church. They have no p.m. service when they have quarterly meeting.

Even though I am a member and tithe there, I have an agreement with the pastor NOT to attend the business meetings. You can imagine having ME as a member of your church - quiet, never outspoken - so I just don't attend. Also, I'm on mission support, so voting on budget, etc affects me and I would have to recuse myself.

My choice. BUT GET TO WATCH NFL. Wife is taping some Lifetime Network marathon of women's lib movies while spending this afternoon (after we eat lunch shortly) doing the last of the garden work.

Bringing in the carrots; uprooting the tomato plants that finally succumbed to the cold. We still have most leaves on the tree, so I will not rake until after coming home from the birth of a new grandbaby.
