Good Morning All! Very foggy here, outside and inside! ;)

Ed is home again and we are both still coughing!

I gave Muffin his pills with toast and butter. All food is gone and we haven't found any hidden pills, yet...

We may get snow tomorrow. Thunderstorms are predicted for this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Everyone, I'm late getting online today. With Jack coming two days a week, I get behind on my chores so had some extra to do today. Ironing has got to be done today too since tonight is AWANA.

It's so warm here that I let Nick go out and play while I have another cup of tea and put a load in the wash. I'm on hold with the VA trying to change an appointment for Jim. I tried yesterday and was on hold for so long, they closed while I was waiting. It's been a good 15 mins. at least now! Ty's watching cartoons and 'doing his schoolwork'. ;) ;)

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Hey Diane, are you still on hold? [IMG] :D

Well I was a good mama and took Bitsy BACK to the doctor. I think I've taken her about once a week for the last two months. This time her major complaint was a stomach ache. She's been complaining with it the whole time we've been dealing with her sinus's thinking it was just part of it. The last few days she's really been complaining about it.

So THREE hours of waiting gives us the diagnosis of, "she has something going on but I'm not sure just what. Keep and eye on her let me know if any other symptoms develop."

Just what I wanted to hear.

Hope everyone else is having a better day....off to Wally World....

I finally hung up after 48 minutes. I figure they'll realize he didn't come since he didn't show up! LOL. What a waste of time!

I had a yukky stomach on Sat. and Sunday but nothing else.

Tonight starts back AWANA and I'm not really looking forward to it. I don't know why! I guess it's because the first week after a long break, the kids are unruly and not prepared so it makes for a LONG 1 1/2 hours for me.

    Diane,
We don't have AWANA at my tiny church for the youth so I don't much about it. Is it targeted at all youth ages or just certain ones?

It actually has levels from ages 3 to college but our church only uses through 5th grade. The teens have another program they use with our Minister of Youth and their workers. It's pretty intense and we're seeing not only a lot of teens saved, but parents are coming in to pick up their children and are asking 'will you tell me about Jesus'. I am THRILLED with our youth program. We have rows of youth each Sunday. Yeah... they may have piercings and odd colored hair but they love the Lord.

I'm the AWANA Director for the Cubbies. That's ages 3-4. The kids are so cute and learn so much but by this time of night, I've had children since 5:45 ish.

Tomorrow Ty won't be coming. His grandparents are coming in from Ala. so I can sleep in some.

We are having some of the worst rolling thunder I think I've ever heard.

Flash flood warnings are out and we're supposed to get a few inches of rain this evening and overnight.

I am not going out in this rain and get sick again.

I'm going to take a hot bath, drink a cup of hot cocoa, and watch TV in bed.

    Pleasant dreams all!

Mmmm! Hot cocoa sounds good, Sue. We are going to get storms tomorrow. You better keep check on storm warnings tonight.

Well I pulled a good one tonight. My inlaws went to Birmingham shopping today. When the hadn't called me by 6:30 I called them. They weren't home so I called their cell phone. So it rings and I hear someone pick up but it is staticy. I thought we had a bad connection so I say hello a couple of times. Well I heard voices but they still weren't coherent so I say hello a couple of more times. Then I figure out that I can hear someone after all, so I stop to listen. I was hearing my inlaws preacher beginning to pray! I had called them in the middle of church!

It's pine derby time again! Son got his car kit tonight. I'm sure my men folk will disapear this weekend. I think pine derby racing is as much fun for the dads as it is the boys.

Does anyone else's church sponser a pine derby race?

We do pine derby but my little ones aren't allowed. I have a problem with the way they're being run. Parents go to Michaels Crafts, buy the pre cut, sanded, weighted cars and just paint and sticker them up. Those are the cars that win. The boys and girls who make their own cars, with dads help, always lose. I think it should be a rule that only home made cars are allowed! Off my soapbox now.

Our rain is supposed to move in sometime tomorrow. I'm not sure how much or how bad it'll be but then it's to cool way off too.

We had 21 children tonight in Cubbies. 2 new kids had joined. 2 others were wanting to join but they were underage by days. AWANA is very strict on age requirements.

My boy and I--We bought the Boy Scout "official" derby car---sanded it, painted it, loaded it down with fishin' weights, graphited the wheels---and still got the "pants" beat off us!!

Yep, we would buy the cars in the bags, sand it and shape it with the Dremel tool. Lost every year. Nick did win an award for a good looking car one year. He made a cop car.

And when I said my little ones are allowed... I'm the Cubbie director so I meant the 3 and 4 year olds.

Our church gives the kids all the same package. I've never seen a preweighted derby car.

There are a lot of tips out there on the web as to how to build the fastest car. Where the weight is on the car and having the exact amount specified are very important.

The kid that won last year also won the year before. Son was second last year, but determined to be first this year.

I just hope this year he doesn't have a migraine on racing day like he did last year. That'll be a win big enough for me.

I think the kids have to be in first grade to participate, here.

We do the derby every year at VBS. Keeps the fellas interested.

We're supposed to have rain tomorrow too. I love rain. Its gonna be a busy messy day though - especially with all the piano students/parents tracking in gunk. Oh well, comes with the territory!

    Have agreat day!

hmmm, not many people lurking around the board this time of night/morning.

I wouldn't mind borrowing some of your rain Sue.

We have a "windchill warning" pretty much for the rest of the week. The temperatures at night are in the mid minus 30's and the highs are only about five degrees higher. It is windy, giving a windchill reading (what it really feels like), of minus 40 to 45, and sometimes a bit more. Although that is all in Celsius it really doesn't matter when it gets that cold. At 40 degrees the Celsius and Farenheit scales read the same. -40 C. = -40 F
I think I've been drinking more coffee than usual.

Perhaps I should make this my last post for the night, and retire. Good night all.

    Good morning all:

DHK: I wish I could send you some rain! It is going to rain most of the day and then turn to snow - which means we'll have ice under the snow at 7ºF tonight...

I'm going to try and clean out our 'storage' room today. It got kind of messed up dragging the decorations out, hiding Christmas presents, wrapping paper, etc. in there. I would like to have it as a spare bedroom again if I can swing it!

Sue-we keep all of our Christams "stuff" in a closet in the bathroom. It's all stacked in crates in the dining room and aren't sure it's all gonna fit. We've weeded out many decorations and ornaments to send to Goodwill.

I'll be glad when the house gets back to normal. And hey! there's only 300 days or so to Christmas.

    Morning Gib:

I weed out every year, but the 'stuff' must grow over the summer!

I know! I always start making things in January for the next Christmas.

I used to store decorations in the basement, but hubby ends up putting tools on top of, around, under, in, etc, the boxes. I thought it might be easier to just keep them up here! ;)
