Good Morning Everyone. We're off to a weird start! I finally got the scrambled egg up off the floor and within minutes of MacKenzie heading outside, she ran and slipped on the dirt to skin her knee. I tell them not to run! My backyard slopes and it's easy to fall. That's all cleaned up and they're already having snacks and juice. Brayden is down for a nap and part of the house if cleaned. Seems like too much all at once this morning tho. Thankfully, tomorrow is one less child so I can bring out some paper dolls and entertain the one 3 year old quietly!

Sunday is a planning afternoon for VBS. It's right after second service and we've decided to attend first service since that's the one with hymns so I'll just have Jim call me when service is over (he has to be there for every service every other week) and I'll go back up then.

Well, off to do MORE chores!
    Diane

Sue, I agree. There is a link within the link I posted for a site that will allow you to contact your Senator about this issue.

Ohh Diane, where do you get your paper dolls. I used to love them when I was a kid and I think that Bisty would too. She's a doll kind of kid.

Chores for me too. But I have to get dressed first!

Almost 90 here now....will it continue to rise? Will the sun bake Tennessee into a "pecan log"? Will the pop up showers hit Tony's area? We'll find out in the next episode of Tennessee Tony....LOL ;)

Geeesh...It's so hot the chickens would fry without the grease!

I saw that on the Weather Channel, Sue. Where we used to live in Minnesota was cold overnight and is the same today....just like the summer of 1992 when we moved there.

    WHOO HOO, Diane, VBS!!!!
I guess you're doing the Road Trip. We're doing African Safari (Group Pub. "Serengeti Trek"). My shipment of VBS stuff is to arrive on Monday via UPS. Christmas in May!

Got the "unofficial" word on my shoulder yesterday. I say unofficial because I don't see the ortho until tonight. I got a copy of the MRI report and I indeed have a "full-thickness rotator cuff tear." And a dislocated bicep tendon. All the stuff I read says I'm probably a candidate for surgery. I'll see if that's what he says tonight. I frankly can't imagine any other recourse if I want my arm to work again. I guess I'll have to sharpen my delegation skills for VBS. That will be the hardest part.

On a brighter note, DH, DD, and I are off to a retreat this weekend for our church's officers. It's been called a "leadership conference" and the speaker will teach on biblical leadership. Meanwhile, another church who has sort of "adopted" us for support in growth will come in and take over everything on Sunday morning, including the kids.

Yikes Debby! I'm glad they can fix it but shucks!

Yep, we're doing the Ramblin' Road Trip. I found a use for those Kool-Aid cannisters! I'm going to pain the lids black and put a shiny silver circle of tape in the middle so they look like tires. The containers can be for VBS Keepsakes.

I loved those, too, but the tags were never big enough and her clothes kept falling off. I finally just made my own with the only materials I had...notebook paper. All her clothes had lines on them, but it became a fun hobby.

MK, if you're interested, I'll see if I can make a few dolls/clothes for you to print up on your printer. You can print the dolls on 110lb card stock (you can get a package at an office supply store) or you could cut a manilla folder in half and print it on that...

But I'm not going to waste my time if you're not interested (but if you are, it wouldn't be a waste of time). It just sounds like something fun.

This would be a fun thing for all of us to do...design clothes...decide what clothes she should wear.. :D

Debbie, I'll certainly be praying for you (it's cool to be on a website that I know I can tell someone I'm praying for someone without hoping I'm not offending that person).

I'm recovering from adhesive capsulitis and it's been a tough year. The surgery didn't bother me because I was asleep, but I had to go over to PT as soon as surgery was over. The first two weeks I had 5 days of pT, followed by a few months of 3xweek pt then twice weekly. I still don't have full ROM but there aren't too many things I ned to reach for. I have a son that's 6'4" and I'm brainwashing him into believing that he's supposed to live out his life here at home until we can afford a tall repairman. [IMG] (kidding! He graduates from high school on the 28th)

The only thing that got me through all the pain and PT was knowing that my new church was praying for me.

Maybe I shouldn't burst y'all's bubble this soon after joining this site, but you have to find out sooner or later: I've managed to join the best church in the world.

There. I said it. But, please don't hate me. [IMG]

That's a cute site, Diane. I wish I had access to the internet (and a computer) when my kids were small. I had to make everything by hand.

Hey, nobody special... the 'dolls' I use area not the typical paper dolls.

[IMG] They're more for little kids.

This little guy, slipped in a small paper bag (like a sleeping bag) with a piece of cloth glued on it can be the lame man who is told 'Silver and Gold have I none... but such as I have give I thee! In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk!'

That's actually who it is but the pictures of the other Bible characters were bigger than our logo and I didn't want to break rules tonight. [IMG]

It is cold tonight and I refuse to turn the furnace back on, so I'm going to snuggle under the covers!

    Pleasant dreams all!

Wow, it's still over 70° here now and we have all our windows open and ceiling fans going.

I'm BEAT. The kids were hot, tired and fussy by time Dad arrived at 7:30. That was a 13 1/2 hour day for the last two and the same for tomorrow. YAWN......... Think I'll head to bed and snuggle with my sweet hubby!

What a hot day! (Sorry Sue!) I'm about to get in the bed under the ceiling fan. The AC is just not doing it for me tonight.

I don't get to go to sleep though. I have some paperwork that has to be done by noon tomorrow and I'm afraid if I don't get it mostly done tonight I won't finish in time. Tomorrow is yard sale day! I hope to get rid of a bunch of stuff, but I only have about half of it out. To dark to do anymore tonight. It'll have to wait till morning.

Diane, I've seen those. I was hoping you'd found a site with some that were a little more elegant. This site ( http://store.marthapullen.com ) has some but they are a little too nice. Or maybe I just can't see spending $12 for paper. I used to get whole books of dolls and clothes for 49 cents.

Maybe I should do a quick google.

Thanks for the support about my shoulder. And yep, the doc said surgery. And not the new thing - arthroscopic, but the old fashioned way (slice) because the tear is so big. Back to day 1 with PT after the surgery, but at least I know what to expect. What I need is patience!!! I'll either be in and out in one day for the job, or overnight.

Neat idea for the kool-aid containers. I got the kits this year, so that sort of thing is all figured out. Drums, lion noisemakers, animal print picture frames. Need something to do with elephants, though. They represent "Work for God".
