    Hi Folks,

All this talk of worms is givin' me the creepy-crawlies.

Tony, no push mower pushing for you!!!

Went to the Dr yesterday, and was told I have very high cholesterol! Aren't I lucky?!?!??! (not) He said "get it down with diet, or I'm prescribing a pill." (Just 'cause he prescribes it doesn't mean I'm going to take it  )
Carl had high cholesterol a few months ago, and the same Dr told him to eat a banana a day, and take Red Yeast Rice capsules. it's worked, so I'm doing that, too.
Carl also thought Just 'cause you prescribe it doesn't mean I'm going to take it.
We're cautious because of the side-effects of the pills, and would much rather take natural stuff.
We have a Gazelle on layaway at Wal-Mart, so that will help me with the walking i'm supposed to do. Can't take the heat very well since I was attacked by dermatitis in early 2003.

Now just think how helpful it would be if round worms ate cholesterol.

Never mind. I just made myself shudder.

I don't have worms, but I do have two Fords.

I like the back window padre, but it gets really nasty in the cab when you're driving on a dirt road.

It was 91º and we had to step out of the truck to get cooled off...

    Morning all:

73 here already this morning with a heat index of 79 and a humidity of 80. It's supposed to reach 95+ with a heat index of 110+, so I won't be outside today, and the air will be blasting away. I was outside in the heat yesterday driving to Bell Buckle to get the mail, made it back, and by the time Viv got home was in heat exhaustion, and that was with the air on in the car and in the house. Apparently I've not been drinking enough fluids. I didn't realize that some of my medications put me incognizant of that fact. Bless my soul, I don't know what I'm gonna do.

Viv came home yesterday with a piece of paper and threw it at me. I thought it was a reprimand from work or something like that, but it was something that her former supervisor had nominated her for when he was her super...it was a $100 gift card (Visa/MasterCard). That was such a blessing. They also told her yesterday that they knew she'd been under a lot of stress and that several other people in her line had too (two others had experienced deaths in their families or friends who had been killed on their way home from Dell that week on 2nd shift and it really shook them up) so, Viv's line isn't working this weekend. PRAISE THE LORD! Someone must have been praying for us! I just about broke down and cried, and it takes a WHOLE lot to make me do that! Next weekend, Lord willing, we're going to Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, KY and spending the weekend there. Viv's got those tickets from Dell, and it will be great to get away for a few days, even if it IS with Dell folks!

I've got to go and try to get some sleep. I only slept two hours last night. Viv slept about four. Tonight she's going to sleep more...tomorrow she's sleeping in...no if's..and's or but's! She needs some rest!

Praying for ya'll, and thanks for those of ya'll who told me to stay out of the yard. I think I'll heed your advice. I'm having the mower taken to a "fix-it" shop next week. Might have to sell something to get it fixed, but it will get done. The Lord will provide. He always does. [IMG]

    Have a great day!

Applause for Dell! [IMG] I'm glad Vivian is getting a chance for rest.

Pray for us today. This is Precious' follow up with the Reumatology clinic. Pray that they will have at least some clue to what is going on.

Gotta go get dress and get out the door!

    Ya'll have a good day!

    Good morning all:

Dale is at the lab having blood work done (every three days) and goes back to his surgeon, in Springfield, tomorrow morning. He is having no pain, but is still weak and too THIN.

My dad started chewing tobacco in 1919 when he was overseas fighting in WWI. They weren't allowed to light a match on the front lines so most of the men starting chewing tobacco.

He chewed it until he died at 85 and his teeth were wore down to the gums...

I grew up with one of these in the house!

Boy sign on late and there's so much to respond to!

First! Scooter didn't poop all night. There was one 'pee' spot but it's on linoleum and he is only 6 weeks old! Also, that link did it for ME, Cindi! The woman who told me about the free neurtering said the doctor who does that will probably offer to give the rabies at cost or I could just go to the other feed store and get that one shot. She also said there's a clinic that she knows of that will give the once a month pills for heartworms to puppies under 6 months without blood tests. Just going to have to do our homework!

NO chewing tobacco for this girl! YUK!

Gayla, oatmeal helps with cholesterol. That's what Jim did and it lowered his. Prednisone had raised his really high.

Tony, you have got to take it easy! I know it must be hard. The spirit is willing but the flesh is too weak, to twist a phrase to fit. There are many things I'd have been able to do years ago but I'm not as strong as I was. I cannot cut the grass on the street side of our flower beds. It slopes terribly and even the guys have trouble.

I had checked our forecast and 90° is our expected high today with every day next week to be in the mid to high 90's°. We open our windows before bed because we really don't like the stuffy feeling of A/C even with the ceiling fans going but I closed up by 9:00 this morning. It gets down to 72° at night. It's 77° right now. It was a little warmer earlier but there's a chance of rain.

I'm thinking I may take all the kids up to church tomorrow before lunch. The playground there is covered with the white bark and I have to take down the remainder of my VBS things. Even if it's storming, there's different toys there and will break the monotony.

    Diane

I've told y'all.... I spend day after day with 3 and 4 year olds. Poop is another word for 'ooh-ey' as in Brayden went 'ooh-ey' in his diaper!

LOLOL Nothing in the bathroom but a few wet spots and I think that's pretty good at 6 weeks. No worms so far today. Just regular 'bowel movements' and outside! ;) He's sleeping at my feet now.

We can pick up Patches in 1 hour 15 mins. Nick is going CRAZY. Everytime the phone rings, he's worried about her!

99 degrees here, and we just had rain! You should see the steam coming off the pavement! It's even coming off the gravel in the driveway. We had HUGE, and I mean HUGE drops of rain. I've never seen any that large before, even when I lived in GA. I thought it was hail at first because of the noise it was making. These drops were so big they actually knocked tomato's off the vines.

Diane, I'm trying to get Vivian to let me get a dog so that I'll have a companion at home while she's gone. I go crazy being here by myself all day long. But, it might improve soon. When I went to get the mail yesterday, when I drove by the house that sits to the front left of us, there is a "Contract Pending" sign on it now. There is also a "Pending" sign on the house to the front right of us. Maybe they'll actually sell this time and to some good neighbors. One is an African American lady (the one to the right) and she seems pretty nice. The one to the left, if it's the people I'm thinking of, are a young couple in their early 20's with a baby. They too seemed friendly enough.
The house at the far right of us is for rent, and hopefully Garrett will rent it out to someone decent and not some crackhead like the people he's running with now. Vivian and I have pretty much broken all association with him, and are pretty much afraid to let him into our home. That's a shame, too, because for a long while there, he was doing so well. We're still praying for him and trying to be a good witness without letting him into the house.

We're enjoying Scooter even tho it means trips outside every hour to keep him 'training'. He's doing really well tho. He's sleeping again.

We picked up Patches a little earlier than planned. Nick was having a FIT. I've got pain killers and antibiotics to sneak into her food twice a day. The pain pills are for 4 days and the antibiotics are 7 more days. She's sleeping on Nick's bed now. I think the pain pills also calm her down a bit. She was very hungry when we first got home but has slept the rest of the time.

The mom with the migraine went BACK to the hospital last night and was admitted. The father can't miss anymore work so he has to bring them to me at 4:30 in the morning. He wanted to know if that's a problem. I told him he needed to make sure they understood that they're going BACK to bed and are to STAY in bed until the baby and Nick wake up. Just knowing I'll have them 16 or more hours has made me nervous. :( Both sets of grandparents live in town! I'll have to remind Dad to pay me, too.

Curse me if you must, but I'm going to buy 1 lottery ticket tomorrow~ Mega Millions is $170 million and we could retire! LOLOL

Whew! Another long, boring day at the doctor.

The long and short of it is: They recognize that she is obviously in pain, but they still don't know what the root cause of it is.

The tests we had done last month pretty much came back normal, except the CT scan showed some enlargement in some lymph nodes in her neck in the area of the thyroid. Somehow the thyroid panel got left off last months bloodwork, so we got more taken today and we go back for an MRI next Wednesday night. Yes night, they only had evening appointments available so we are going in at 7 o'clock.

Diane, buy me a ticket too. [IMG]

I'm going to go see what I've missed today, see ya later.

It's a piece of exercise equipment. The inventor is in a Geico commercial. The guy with the long, curly blonde hair. "I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance . . Yeah Baby!!!"
    That contraption is a Gazelle
