    Good morning all:

Another day with a chance of rain. We've had rain, at different times, every day for the last four days. We need the rain, but I sure wish we could have gotten our roof fixed before it started! Maybe THIS week end <sigh>.

I'm going to do some jobs around the house that I've been putting off and since Brent is gone, I'm going to take a NAP this afternoon! [IMG]

I'm late coming online today! It was an odd night! Scooter got his foot stuck in the airconditioner vent on the floor and was yelping about 2:30. He got it loose and I took him out for a walk. Then he didn't want to go back to sleep! I finally brought him into the t.v. room and dozed off on the sofa.

I got up for Ty at 5:30 and his mother called at 6:10 to say they'd locked the keys in the old truck over the weekend and once they 'broke into it', it wouldn't start. Hubby took her car to work and she got her alternate to work for her so he'll be here Tues. - Fri. instead.

Got back to sleep for about 2 hours and then had to rush so I'd have schoolwork out and babybed set up for the other 3. They arrived about 20 mins. early.

We've found someone to repair the trumpet Nick was given. A fine Christian fella, older man, who is very involved with home school groups nearer Atlanta. His wife directs several bands. [IMG] He's just as nice as can be and said to have Jim stop by today. His store is right near Jim's work. [IMG]

Off to stop the talking in the kitchen!

Wild night last night! Thunder and lighting that sounded a little "too close for comfort" to me. The cats didn't like it one bit!

Cold Point Baptist Church, Plymouth Meeting, PA, got hit by lightning and had its steeple blown off and fire through the roof. Don't know how bad the damage was. Cold Point is an ABC church that dates back to before the Civil War.

Sun's out now, although they say we might get some more rain. Hopefully not until I get back from therapy.

My bum wing is on the mend, but I still have a long way to go before I'll reach my goal of clapping my hands above my head. Muscles are sure resistant to change!

Hey Debby, sorry to hear about that church.

Did you see where Sue's grandson's arm isn't healing well and he's got some limited movement in his elbow?

No, I haven't been reading the BB as much as before. Been busy, I actually have to "work" at work lately, imagine that! LOL!

You mean the little guy, Brent, the cookie baker? How's he doing, Sue?

Brent is spending this week in Kansas with Pastor_Bob so he is doing fine. [IMG]

He is doing therapy exercises for his arm because the new bone growth is inhibiting the elbow movement.

He can't twist his left arm to the left. We're working on it though. Thanks for asking!

Glad you're on the mend too, Debby!

Wow! 103 degrees here...heat index of 113! ICK!

There are thunderstorms popping up all over the place right now, and it's really sort of eerie. I can't believe the way they pop up for just a minute or two and then are gone, and then another moves in. One minute it's bright outside, the next it's dark, and there is lightening and thunder.

The house to the left of us has the "closing" today. Don't know when the young couple will be moving in. The couple to the right of us were digging on the property line getting ready to put in a fence, I guess. So far they've been ok. They do have a dog. We're just waiting to see how long it is before the dog becomes a "problem child"! ;)

I'm having the hardest time with the outward twist, and what they call "external rotation." That's trying to hold your upper arm at your side and pivoting your lower arm out. You never know how many different muscle combinations you use until some of them don't work! Tell him to keep practicing, and so will I!

Those major league pitchers that have your same surgery sometimes are off for a year with daily workouts and P.T. That sure was a bad injury!

Oh I'm SO proud of Kelsey! Two weeks ago today it took her 5 1/2 hours to do her school work. Today it took her 2 hours and 7 mins! She's really learning to read directions and work independently. She'll still want a little guidance but I'm just THRILLED! No ADD meds either!

Now they'll 'play' Carmen Sandiego, ZAP IT (electricity game), Oregon Trail or Conjunction Junction on the computer or the handheld games we had for our grown kids. Remember these??

We also have all the [IMG] Three math and one spelling.
Nick has a computer in his room and Kelsey will use mine. [IMG]

That's exactly the same thing Brent is having trouble with and he is doing the same exercise!

    Hey folks!

It is storming here to, Tony, but I don't think it got up to a hundred. It was only supposed to be in the 90's.

Son and I are at the hospital getting his treatment. He's already had the first round of medication and says it is starting to take effect. Hopefully by tomorrow morning we will be headache free.

I'll be on and off for the rest of the evening. Thank goodness that this hospital offer guest internet access. They don't have many cartoons, though. At least we thought to bring the laptop. He can play MSN games to pass the time.

Gotta go try to call my MIL and my sis. Keep us in your prayers.

    Hey Everyone,

Been a busy weekend in the Coffee House!
Will say a special prayer for everyone.

The Oncologist called this morning. Said there are two spots he's concerned about. First is the lower back where I saw the "hotspot", and then my neck/right collar-bone area. I'm having an MRI (Open) on the lower back and a CT Scan on the neck Friday.
Could still be a false alarm since I strained my lower back the 1st of July jumping, twisting and squealing when there was a snake in the carport between me and the van. And 10 years ago had surgery on my right collarbone because there was something in there. The Docs then decided it was blood cysts. They took 2 out, and left several in there.

Other than that, I'm having a great day! ;) [IMG] :D :D [IMG]

Exactly Gayla but will keep praying! Could even be a touch of scar tissue from your surgery or arthritis setting in. EEK!

No rain here, Cindi, and we're only 113 miles from B/ham. It's pretty hot but I have on the window unit and it keeps one end of the house very cool. The downstairs stays cool anyhow.

Okay Gayla, that's twice you've mentioned the snake. You gotta tell your story.

I'll start by telling you mine. When T and I were in our first years of marriage, his grandfather gave us and old houseplace(complete with old house) to put a trailer on. We bulldozed the old house as it was irreparable. They filled in the concrete, WPA built outhouse(no joke), and cleared the lot. They left an ancient brick retaining wall, even though it was falling apart and wasn't retaining anything any more.

So T and I got moved in, and one day while we were doing yard work, I decided that at least part of that wall had to go. so I get my rake and my shovel and proceed to pull the bricks out of that wall. After one mighty pull with the rake that resulted in a good many bricks falling, something prompted me to look down between my legs. There was a foot long baby rattlesnake! I don't remember moving, but the next thing I knew I was halfway down the hillside! [IMG]

Okay, now this is cool, there are no cartoons other than PBS on this tv, but they have a live feed of the front entrance being broadcast on one of the channels. We are keeping busy at the moment trying to watch for T's truck to drive by. If you have to go to the hospital, this is the one to be at. As a matter of fact MIL's uncle is having open heart surgery here tomorrow morning. I wonder if they're taking us on the family plan? :D

Son is soo much better after just one round of meds. He's ready to home. The doc promised to come early tomorrow to release him. [IMG]

Ok, here's my snake story. Not as exciting as yours tho.

I was going to town to get some bloodwork and a chest X-ray (routine check-up stuff).

When I stepped down into the carport (about a 5-inch step)I saw a black snake about 6 to 7 inches long. Have no idea what kind it was, but the only good snake is a dead one!!!

I squealed, turned and jumped back up the step to the porch and jarred my lower back. Hasn't totally stopped hurting since.

Never had lower back trouble until Sept of '01 when my Girl was born, have had mild back pain off and on since.

Would you please pass the fig preserves? ;) [IMG]

Isn't is terribly exciting, when we do something our bodies should be perfectly capable of doing and then we suffer for weeks after? At least you came by yours honestly by jumping. Mine usually starts by rolling over the wrong way in bed!

    Here are the preserves, enjoy!

I had chicken fingers and fries from Milos, courtesy of hubby. Son barely touched his lovely dinner of beef, mashed potatos and gravy and english peas(complete with chocolate pudding for dessert). Dad brought him an apple pie. He didn't eat that either.

They just got the second round of meds in him and he is just about to drop off to sleep. He's been sooo bored.
