Afternoon all:
Gib, sorry to hear about Jordan. Have been there, done that. NOT FUN, but necessary. I'll be praying for him and the rest of yours, too.
Sue, glad to know Brent is home and the roof is finally going to be done.
Praise God!
Debby, that is excellent news!
Thanks for all of you who bathed us in prayer this morning. I did not have to turn in my resignation as the deacons had a meeting this morning and decided to put this subject into a committee. It could take anywhere from three to six months minimum, and up to a year. The great thing was that it was the two oldest (one of them is the HEAD deacon) that suggested we DO search the Word on these things. My paper that I wrote will be of assistance.
They all want a copy. The one who was against it now has a copy in hand and was very congenial this morning, even after the service. It was a hard service to preach on Joshua 24. I didn't want this particular deacon to think it was an attack on him because it wasn't, and the Lord let his heart be open and receptive. I just hope and pray it stays that way. I talked with him afterward and told him that I loved him as a brother, that I was his friend even if we had differing opinions, and that would never change. He nearly broke into tears. I believe he was genuine and I believe he will understand better now that he has my paper, from the beginning of the subject to how to handle any conflicts that arise concerning said subject. God is good!
Well, I need to go and get ready. Church tonight is on the rest of the 2nd chapter of Acts and beginning in on chapter 3. I believe we're also going to start a doctrines class for all of the church so that they will be better instructed on Biblical doctrine!
I'm writing some of the materials now.
God bless, and I'll talk to ya'll tomorrow.
