LOL Pamela! T's BIl and neices all had their b'days in August or early September. His sister's b'day was yesterday. Everyone's cards and presents are sitting right where they were brought in the house! Maybe they'll get them in time for Thanksgiving.

I'm beginning to feel a bit better, so I'm going to hold off on the meds and see how it goes. [IMG] If only the stupid shaking would stop.

I've got the water on. Tough since it froze in the hose overnight (it gets down to 25 at night and up to 70 in the day) and took an hour in the sun to warm it up! But everything is soooo dry and we planted 5 bushes and 5 trees in September and want to ensure survival.

Ten day forecast calls for 5 days with highs in mid 60's and then 5 for highs in high 50's and no precip. Now if it can just hold off snow until after Nov 6 - bride and I fly for a week in Wisconsin to celebrate birthdays of Natalie (2) and Daniel (4) both born that week.

Good Afternoon All! Mom I will be heading over in a bit after I leave here! I got some "stuff" for ya! It isn't laundry either! LOL

Busy around here! Had to get a new artificial leg since I ummm broke the other one. It took a couple weeks to get it made and I pick it up tomorrow. Also, have a cyst being romoved in the next couple of weeks from my wrist. No biggie there but they are gonna numb the whole arm. So, Mom will have fun trying to put my artificial leg on! [IMG] Wish I had the camcorder for that one!! Well, I guess I need to go finish paying bills and running errands so will check in again when I get the opportunity.

Good evening, everyone! It has been a busy day. I think phone calls and e-mails have taken up most of my time. Oh yes, I did paint this morning.

Well, thursday, there will be another funeral at our church, five funerals in two months. I played for one last Thursday and now another this Thursday. Last week, was an 89 year old,but this one is a 45 year man. His daughter is my granddaughter's very best friend. They lived on the same street until my kids moved to Florida.

Thanks for cheering me up. The food and fellowship here is always good.

We have had freezing temperture two nights in a row.

Dr. Bob, Ed thought of the water hoses late the first night of freeze warning and disconnected them, but we will need them attached again before actual winter.

Hi, Shawna!

Must go prepare supper.

Betty

Hi Shawna! Sorry I missed you, but I've been off line all afternoon.

We'll take the wheelchair when you have your surgery - then I won't have to put your leg on. [IMG]

Brent wants the computer this evening. He is learning to type without looking. He needs the practice. I bought him a 'learning' CD and he is doing pretty well.

I will try and come back to say good night later.

Thanks for sharing about Clarice, though. What a lovely tribute to a great lady!

Morning all:

A cold and blustery 36 here! There was a lot of frost on the car windows this morning and Viv had to let the car run for 5 min before she left. The frost still wasn't fully melted off, except on the back window where the rear window defroster melted it quickly.

It's supposed to get to 60 today.

Going to be trying to finish some writing today and then I need to do some editing, too. I'm hoping I can get most of it done by noon.

Ya'll have a great day.

Be good, Be kind, Be careful.

Good morning all:

37º here with a high of 58º this afternoon.

I spent the evening crocheting last night. I have two afghans to finish before Christmas.

Brent goes to the doctor this morning to get his cast off and x-rays taken. We're praying he doesn't have to wear it anymore.

We are going grocery shopping while we are out and possibly hit the thrift shops.

Ya'll have a good day!

Hey ya'll!

After I thought I felt better yesterday, I ended up in bed for most of the afternoon. This morning though I was feeling a lot better and have been catching up on everything that got left undone while I was sick.(except my poor guinea pigs who are still waiting on clean cages)

Now I'm tired again!

The weather is gorgeous here, but still a bit cool. I think our high was 60. Okay, time for summer again.

Sue, how's Brent's arm and did you find any "treasures"?

Tony, I've had to run the cars for the last two mornings to get of the frost. Brrrr!

Did I say I was ready for summer already? ;)

Evening all:

Brent no longer has a cast. PTL! The doctor said he didn't 'think' it was broken. He told me to keep Brent away from anything he could fall off of (yeah right).

We went to the Post Office and Aldi's. Then we ate at our favorite steak house, "Bonanza", instead of hitting the thrift shops. We're still too stuffed to eat supper!

Shawna picked up her new 'leg' today and it is SO much more comfortable than the old one, so she is no longer on crutches or in a wheelchair. She is 34 and this has been going on since she developed cancer at age 15. She's stronger than I am!!!

Have a good evening folks!

Good Morning All:

Well, it's a frigid 33 here with wind chills in the upper 20's. Just a few miles S of here it is 37 and wind chill at 32. There was frost again this morning, and Vivian had to let the car run again. She "complained" that it was going to get expensive if this weather kept up like this. I think we'll try to clear out the garage with a yard sale or something or donate or freecycle some things and put the cars in the garage this winter. The van can stay out. We don't use it that often.

MK, it's good to know we're not the only ones in the South being hit by this crazy, frosty weather.

Vivian was looking over some of my writing projects yesterday and is anxious for me to finish two of them. There is a writing contest that has a deadline of Dec 1st, 2005, and she wants me to have one of the short stories in by then. I'm getting some things ready for submission to the Bell Buckle Echo and the Shelbyville Times and possibly the Murfreesboro Daily. It would be nice to see SOMETHING get published soon. I've got over 5,000 pages of mss and only a few of the shorter ones finished. The only ones that ARE finished are about 150 poems and very short stories.

Sue, glad to hear that Brent is out of his cast! I know I was happy when I got out of ALL of mine!

Well, ya'll have a great day.

Be good, Be kind, Be careful.

Good morning all:

Tony, you are having the same kind of weather that we are having. Brrrrrr! 30's at night and 50's in the daytime.

School as usual today. I may get some baking done too. We are out of cookies.

Time to fix bacon, eggs, and pancakes for breakfast. Have a good day all!

Writin' contest?????!!!! Writin' contest????? T---you're more "into it" than Blackbird ever imagined!!! Whatever happened to all of those Tennessee "Eatin' contests"??? And what do you enjoy eatin' the most at those eatin' contests---because---see---Blackbird has seen you there!! Now---if we would just "write" and preach like we eat----folks would read and listen much better!!!! [IMG] [IMG]

Mr. Blackbird, sir, Big T has only been in three "eatin' contests" in his life. One was the whole time he had siblings, where he, as the oldest child, had to fend off any feelings of sympathy for those who would pitifully try to get him to give up the last eggo! ;)

The second one he was in was in the company pic-a-nic (thanks Yogi Bear!) and had to eat more hamburgers and hot dogs than anyone else. There were many mighty eaters in said contest, many whom were much more ro-TON-ed than Big T and had bigger fanny packs, saddle bags, and hang-overs (and I don't mean the drinkin' kind, though many of them did drink) to fill than Big T had!
Big T lost by less than 1/2 of a burger! Big Wilma ate, could eat, and probably still is eating, more than THREE Big T's could ever consume in one sitting!

The last eatin' contest was a very sad affair for Big T, for he was disqualified, though he did eat the most corn dogs (42). It was during the announcement that Big T revealed he had a big secret and "spilled his guts" on the judge! [IMG] What a travesty of justice to allow a little Laotian woman beat him. What disgrace! <<<<BLUSHES>>>>>>

Tony, you were a kid once!??? ;)

Good morning everyone!

Today is costume concentration day. Which means if I don't get them finished today I'm going to be in the doghouse!

Speaking of dogs, both of my huskies have suddenly turned into winter fluff balls. Ava who is black, silver and white, looks chillingly like a wolf when you see her coming toward you in the dark! We'll have to make her part of the halloween decorations. :D She can "kiss" the trick or treaters and steal thier candy!

Must go to the sewing machine.(I'm trying to convince myself)

Sue, I want a cookie!

Good afternoon, everyone! It is a beautiful fall day here in Oklahoma.

The morning was sad for us as we said good-bye to a 46 year old church member. His children and my grandchildren are good friends. There were over 300 people at the funeral. Our church was overflowing. The high school football team was there to support one of their group, the 16 year old son. The baby daughter is only 11.
So sad, but we as Christians have hope! Hope to see our loved ones and friends again.

See you all later.

Gayla dear, how can you doubt that?! Of course we well recognize each other. We will be wearing the BB logo for Pete's sake. [IMG]

Good evening everybody. Boy I am relieved that the baseball season is over. I don't have to look at the Yahoo score board anymore and who was the winner of last night's game. Lady Sue, are you still keeping some Dr Peppers here? I think I have to stack up for tomorrow morning. We will be out of town. Have a restful and pain free night everyone (if you know what I mean)!
