well...another day gone, & believe it or not My Lord just used BH to show me something important.
We come here, chat, cut up, act silly sometimes,& ocassionaly be serious about something or someone but lest we forget, there is a lost & dying world out there. I remember reading about Dwight Moody, that he made a point to try to reach at least one soul a day for his Lord. Let us do the same. Thats a ministry everyone can be involved in. BH acts like a squirrel because God made her a squirrel. God made us His Children & we ought to act like His children, ya know....brag on our Abba...our Papa!
Goodnite, I'll turn out the lights, but there will be one on ...on the front stoop to find your way in if you need refreshing. Don't worry, the door will be open, no need to lock it around here.
If it's the middle of the night don't fret, sit a spell...someone will be around soon. [IMG]

    Good morning all:

I see everything is neat and orderly. Tell BH she did a good job and her first black walnut is on the way (we have two trees in our back yard)...

It is 18F here this morning. I don't think we're in for any more snow for awhile.

I slept fitfully last night, but the new vaporizer DID help me breathe better. Now, if I could just get rid of this cough without going to the doctor, I'll be happy!

    HAGD!

Sue, I held on to mine for 4 weeks and finally got sick and tired of being sick and tired and went to an immediate care facility.

He gave me a dust mask and told me to wear it when I cough so not to spread germs. I asked him if he could give me 62,000 extra so I could pass them out to everyone in the city.

    Mornin'
I'll tell BH later, she & my little wife are sleepin' in. I have to run Agee to the grocery store in Lexington today. I just hope my ribs can take the drive (she don't drive).

I hear ya, Gib. My Bronchitis is not catching, but everyone else coughing on me does not have Bronchitis. They have colds which could turn my Bronchitis into Pneumonia 'again'.

I am staying inside and away from the crowds!

Actually, I have been camping out on the couch most of the day the last few days. I don't have the energy or the inclination to do anything else.

    Good Morning everyone!

WE've had our excitement in the menagerie this morning. Dog 1 and Dog 2, both siberean huskies, have the kids figured out. They know that if they wrap their chains around whatever is handy a time or two that which ever kid is sent out to move them will unsnap thier collar in order to untangle the chain. One good snatch and FREEDOM!!!!! Dog 2, otherwise known as Mishka was sucessful in her attempt this morning. Dog 1, Ava, didn't have a chance.

The reason they are on chains in the first place is that Ava taught Miska how to jump the fence, electric wire and all. Then they promptly attacked my favorite neighbor's new kitty cat.(Gib and Blackbird have been giving them lessons)

So when Dog 2 made her break this morning I sent Son and his friend off to the neighbors house to warn them. I knew they didn't pay me any attention, so I sent Precious off behind them with strict instruction to actually knock on the neighbors door. Of course while in the process of doing so, Dog 2 made her appearance and was captured. I knew she'd be back up there after that cat! (Ava and Mishka are known as Dog 1 and Dog 2 when they are being naughty)

The boys on the otherhand were lost for the next 30 minutes and I was just about to put out a search for them when they finally discovered home again.

Lots to do today. Gonna take the kids to King Kong, gotta go to Wally world.

    Ya'll have a good one!

Be careful Preacher, maybe take some extra padding, like a small quilt or pillow to tuck between the injured rib and the seatbelt.

We're off to set out for one of the goal we tried to achieve yesterday...my oldest needs a pair of jeans that aren't ripped!

Except this time we're staying in town.
Then it's time to clean. Friday is our day for that, and we definitely missed it! Works out well, because I wanted more of a certain type of cleanser anyhow, and I can grab it when I stop for milk on the way home since I found it's sold here.

Ever notice how things don't feel clean if you use a cleaner you're not familiar with?

Now, to start off my day. Late start, we tired ourselves out so much yesterday that we're just now getting up and started!

Gee...after reading all the adventures of the daily lives of the CH group, I now realize how "serene" my life is!! (I'll try to remember that when I think I'm stressed! :D )

My #1 goal today is to get my Christmas cards addressed and ready to mail. I'm SOOOOO behind on that this year. [IMG]

My #2 goal is to make the cheeseballs I give to my co-workers for Christmas. [IMG]

My #3 goal is to work on the stuff I brought home from work to do this weekend since I'm SOOOOO behind on that also. :( (I do payroll, among other things, so everybody is anxious for me to stay caught up even though they interrupt me 1,000 times a day so I can't get it done! [IMG] )

    Merry Christmas!

I wonder how BH and Muffin would get along!

Pumpkin Pie is in the oven. Christmas cards mailed and presents wrapped.

Tomorrow is our Christmas Musical at church and it may snow. Actually, I think they have taken the snow out of the forecast for Sunday. It is raining and if the temp drops we are in trouble.

Hope everyone is having a great day! I love the Christmas Music!

    Merry Christmas,

    Betty

CJ, of course your life is serene! You have CHOCOLATE waiting for you. [IMG]

Thankful, Anna would love you to bits right now. She's a pumpkin pie head!

We've got a lot of cleaning done here, at least the big stuff! Totally forgot to buy my cleaner, walked right by it, so maybe I'll run out and grab it before mopping the floors.

For now, it's back to my scholarship essay, and working out how to attend a workshop on another one, then writing two other essays for one's that have deadlines coming up. And I thought I was gonna get a BREAK from all this stuff until the next quarter starts! Silly me... I do wonder if the people doing the scholarships really read all the entries, or if they just open maybe five and pick the best out of those. Hrm...

Thankful...BH DON"T get along with Sam, our other baby. She's half Lab &half Rottie. Bout a hundred pounds. Least she ain't prejudiced, don't like cats or dogs! Sam don't pay her much mind when she's in but if she does get too close, well it just looks funny, a two pound squirrel tearing into a humongus dog, & winnin'!!
    Computer Junkie...Cheeeeessee Baallllss... YES!!!
Geener...wouldn't have worked anyway, its broken down at the bottom of the rib cage, so don't matter how I move, it HURTS! Even typing, so see what I go thru just to hang around this place??!! [IMG] oooh...that hurts too. (is it pity party time?) ;)

    Poor, poor preacher man. [IMG]
And you're not allowed to take any REAL pain meds and drive!
Didja though? HMMM? You a lawbreaker now?

Just got back from the store again, STILL didn't get my cleaner, so now I give up. I'll use all purpose and LIKE IT! It's my punishment for being forgetful.

Tonight though, I'm done for now as far as anything physical. Gonna work some more on my writing, probably go post in theology either here or elsewhere with a question I've been thinking on, and then make dinner. Spaghetti, garlic rolls, and salad tonight!

Oh, people! Y'all are talking about pumpkin pie, cheese balls, chocolate, spaghetti and all I can eat is chicken noodle soup! Shame on you!

I think I'm heading for the bedroom so I can snuggle under my warm blankie and turn the vaporizer on to breathe. I can watch TV in bed until I fall asleep. Hopefully, one more night and I'll start feeling better.

    Pleasant dreams all!

I'm sorry Sue, I hope you feel MUCH better in the morning! I'd offer you matzah ball soup, but most people who aren't my kids seemed frightened by it. [IMG] They poke it, then I think they feed it to their pets or something...it's GOOD and good for you when you're sick though, it is!

Anna is having a very very off night. She poured garlic powder all over her dinner, then when I told her it was garlic powder she didn't know what garlic was. I explained it. It's weird to see her forget stuff like this. Then she tried putting parmesan cheese on her biscuit instead of butter, and forgot to stop pouring the dressing on her salad. We laughed and kidded about it, but it made my heart hurt.

Ooh Gina, can I ask a nosy question about what meds she is on? Some of those can cause the forgetfulness you are describing.

Sue, you wouldn't have wanted our dinner. We had taco salad and the shells would've hurt your throat.

Preacher, I have a dog(different from the huskies) who will lay on the front porch or in the front yard and let the squirrels run all around him and steal my pecans. UNTIL, someone steps out the front door or drives up the drive. Then he has someone to impress so he will jump up and chase the squirrels into the neighbors yards and come back expecting praise for his deed! Now I know that dog could jump or climb that fence into the neighbor's yard and catch them critters, but no. Sigh....

One day my pecan trees will be big enough to provided enough pecans for both me and the critters. Till then, well I don't really like shelling the things anyway.

Gina I'm not real good at knowing what to always say
but when friends hurt I do too. I do know there have been times in my life that I told my Father that it sure would be nice to be like a small child & crawl up in His lap & just have Him hug me. You know that there were times that it seemed I could really feel His arms around me.
He has a way of saying "Its alright my child,...morning is coming soon."

    MK,
I truly hope the dog never does corner one. Not because I'm partial to'em but even on a bigger dog a squirrel could inflict some serious damage.
The only reason BH hasn't done the same to Sam is cause she's not at full capicity (& I think Sam knows this!)
The sad part is BH has pierced Sams ears a couple of times & the dogs' too dumb to learn!!

Hehe, he doesn't want to catch 'em. He wouldn't know what to do with one if he did! If one would stop and turn around back on him, it would scare him to death! [IMG] [IMG] He's just a big wuss! He did get hold of a baby possum once though. Thought it was a toy and kept tossin' the poor thing around the yard. Had to put him in the garage so it could get away. It was playing dead real good, but it got out of the yard fast and never came back.

The huskies can do some damage to a critter and they hunt in a pack! They are scary to watch, but once they have their teeth on something it don't have a chance. One shake and it's bye bye squirrel(or cat). The squirrels have gotten smart about them and watch for the dogs to go to sleep on the deck before stealing the wild pears out of their yard. Critters are in the yard, up the tree and gone before the huskies can even lift their heads.

It's also quite fun to watch to watch one squirrel distract the dogs by playing in the pear tree just above their reach while another gets it's treat and jumps from at least halfway up, across the dogs heads and is halfway to the next tree, before the dogs know what has happened. [IMG]
