WELCOME ONE AND ALL TO THE

commonlogo.jpg

The only "RULE" here is NO fussin' - NO fightin' - NO feudin'!

I will try to be here to serve you; but if not, feel free to help yourself.

First one in every morning puts the coffee and tea on, last one out at night turns the lights off...

We serve donuts, cinnamon toast (dry toast available upon request), crumpets, bagels, scones, croissants, brioche rolls, yogurt, salads, light lunches, popsicles, ice cream, homemade cookies and homemade pies, and homemade jams.

We also serve coffee (with/without caffeine), hot chocolate, hot tea, iced tea, fresh squeezed lemonade and orange juice, cappuccino, Mountain Dew, DP, DDP, Coke, Pepsi, Diet Sierra Mist, milk, milk shakes, Kool-Aid, and Carb Options.

If you don't see your drink or food of choice...just ask, we will do our best to stock it for you!

Our aim is to please...come and sit a spell, enjoy the fellowship and come back often!

As Christians, we are ALL on common ground...

Oh, I'm the first one here! That is a FIRST!

It is so warm and cozy in here. I'm having hot chocolate today with some homemade pie. Let's see I think I'll have coconut cream, Yum, Yum.

I am doing a little bit of this and that today. I'm decorating some, cleaning very little, addressing Christmas Cards, shopping online. It's probably time for a nap.

I just heard on the weather report that this is the first time that Oklahoma has had a December Arctic Cold Front in 15 years. I can't really remember when we have been this cold, but we are above freezing now and the weekend sounds warm.

See you all later.

Christmas cards are all in the mail. Christmas presents are all wrapped and under the tree (and paid for).

And...I'm ready for a wedding!

Good morning all:

The wedding was wonderful. We all laughed a little and cried a little. The bride and groom were beautiful!

I am off to the Woman's Club to put my food on the serving plates and place the presents under the tree.

I have no idea when I'll be back home, but I'm excited and looking forward to eating, great fellowship, eating, lots of hugs and kisses, eating, opening presents, and eating...

HAGD!

Just got back from doing my Saturday running around. Anybody else notice the Saturday traffic is getting worse?? One would think it's December or something! :D

I generally do my grocery shopping at Kroger...went there this morning and they were FLAT OUT of cream cheese and pecans. How can a major grocery store be OUT of cream cheese and pecans this time of year??

So, because I really do NEED those items, I braved WalMart! If you go with the idea it's going to be crowded, it really isn't too bad! And they had cream cheese and pecans...cheaper than what they would have been at Kroger!

I guess I've been asleep lately...but who in Sue's family got married?

Settling in now with almond bark, peanuts, pretzels and other stuff to make some serious CHOCOLATE delicacies! Also have the stuff to make Chex Mix...which I LOVE! I may or may not wind up eating something healthy or substantial today!

LOL CJ, the day before Thanksgiving I went to Walmart to buy brown sugar. None to be found. they had plenty of pecans and cream cheese!

Come to find out, whoever does their ordering hasn't lived in this area long and had no idea how much brown sugar we go through!

Made some "2-alarm" chili...so I actually was able to get a little sustenance today! Have made "peanut/pretzel clusters"...nothing more than peanuts and pretzels coated in chocolate! (I think that was Gayla's idea!)

Getting ready to make chocolate covered pretzels. Plan to dip just half the pretzel in the chocolate...just can't decide whether to dip the right or left half, or the top or bottom half! Goodness...life is just full of tough decisions, isn't it??! :D

Hello all,
Me & BH been out of the net for a time but when I told her we were back on line she wanted to come here first! Seems she likes all the nuts...the ones for cookin & fixins' that is!
Only 2-alarm? My sweet Agee makes some that I have to keep 911 on hold while I enjoy it!! She puts them little sausage links in it too.
BH said she'd take the half not dipped. Someone told me chocolate is bad for squirrels so I don't take a chance! My wife put an almost empty coolwhip bowl in her cage today. She got to give her a bath, but you should have seen a coolwhipped squirrel!!

Oh Jim,
Glad BH is asleep. Course I don't know if that would bother her or not, I wonder sometimes if she knows she's a squirrel. actually I found her in an attic, when I did pest control. She was the size of my thumb!
Try mothballs instead, i would hate to think I was the cause of a sick (or worse) squirrel. sides I don't know for sure if it's bad for them or not, & if I'm wrong then next time they may bring friends!! :D

Good morning all:

Our 'family' Christmas is over and everyone had a WONDERFUL time! I always wanted a large family, so I 'grew' one. There were 28 of us there yesterday and I started it all...
laugh.gif

I will write more later as the families are all leaving today and I still have some hugs and kisses to 'collect'.

My dear Mr. Preacher,

I have tried everything, including kindness; Have-a-heart traps and live release, continuous music in the space, moth balls, even got a weak b-b-gun that wouldn't maim or kill.....Damage: several electrical wires chewed bare, getting down into walls and chewing holes in drywall, driving dogs and cats and us crazy. This has been going on for five years. They have a hundred acres of woods to romp and play and make their nests.

I was ok when a Pentecostal preacher from Kentucky came every Fall to hunt squirrel for its food value, but he died..................

By the way, good morning Sue. Glad you had a nice gathering of family at your house. Blessings.

Cheers everyone,

Jim

Well since ya put it that way BH said she understands. I mean my wife has threatened to put her in a stewpot a couple of times!
seriously though if you're having that much problems, then mabey try to patch or close where they come in. Do you have screening over your gable vents? Make sure there are no openings in the soffit anywhere. I'll try to remember to check with some folks to see what they know about keepin' them out. Though most of the one's I know want them in!!!
By the way too...Good mornin' Sue!!

On the screening i mean heavy duty, they'll just eat thru screen like whats on windows.
According to what I've found already there's not a lot you can do, other than making it as hard as possible for them to get in. Some say a strong brite strobe light will run them out.

Good morning Jim and Preacher!

Jim: Check out this page. It has some very interesting and helpful information about getting 'rid' of squirrels.

Here is an excerpt from the page. The link follows.

HOW THEY GET INSIDE
As your house ages, this weathering provides the opportunity for squirrels to discover a damaged piece of trim, allowing them partial entrance. They'll finish the job, quite easily, in a half hour or so, if they want to. And they don't really need your attic. An exposed soffit will do just as well. If it's a soffit, you might not hear them, and they could be in there for months. They will make their home in any small area, but will investigate whatever they can. And they can fit through anything they can get their head through. Once inside, their innate curiosity will force them to explore their new surroundings.
