As the fallout of the Supreme Court’s (5-4) ruling to legalize homosexual marriage continues, it merits noting that British conservative Peter Hitchens accurately predicted what would result from tampering with marriage -- in Western society overall -- arguing that this is not about liberating gays but is solely “an attempt to impose” a new “liberal bigotry” against conservatives and orthodox Christians.

“Do you know how many people in this country [England], as a proportion of the population, are in [gay] civil partnerships? One-fifth of one percent,” said Hitchens on the BBC’sQuestion Time. “It is an extraordinarily small issue affecting an extraordinarily small number of people.”
