You know, JG, though discussion boards are kind of meant to foster disagreement (OK, maybe a slight overstatement), I would much rather find agreement than disagreement, and then be able to debate the disagreements based on shared premises, so I'm pleased to find we think more alike than not. I strongly agree with everything you just said.

Tancredo is going to be called a racists by the Democrats as he tries to run for President and tries to close the border. Bush is a hypocrite on this issue, as we all know. Being born an aristocrat, he does not have any contact with any illegals but he wants the borders open because he and his brother are getting about half of the Latino vote.

Anyone who tries to bring order to the immigration process is going to be called a racist by the Democrats. A lady from South America last month told me that the US policy is allowing all the illegals in but is keeping out the decent, hard-working middle class people who want to enter legally because the system takes years to recognize them. There are many countries in Latin America that have more serious problems than Mexico, which could overcome most of their problems if they could reduce corruption in the civil service.

Pat Buchanan is not against Jews. Just because he, or anyone else, doesn't fall in lockstep with dispensationalists' pronouncements on the modern political state of Israel does not mean he, or anyone else, is against Jews.

In the 1980’s Buchanan had the best editorials, along with George Will and Walter Williams. Today, Will seems sort of blah, Williams is still right on beat. Buchanan seems a bit extreme these days, but one thing is for sure, Buchanan speaks what he feels, no one pulls his strings. I wish I could say the same about Bush.

If I had one question for Bush, I would ask, “if illegal immigrants are needed to fill low paying jobs that no one wants, why don’t you let Haitians into the country? “ I mean, let 100 in. Send ’em a basket of fruit for crying out loud. How much would it take to restore order in Haiti and let the missions come in and help?

    Such is politics, I guess.

    JG,

I do believe both North Korea and China are possible threats

Actually, if I had to guess, I'll bet that I probably worry more about China than you do, not because I think you don't worry sufficiently, but because I am just so very concerned about them. I see them being a very real threat in at least the Pacific in less than ten years. I'm also worried about their increasing presence and dealings here in the Western Hemisphere.

I believe China is another issue that you and I are probably almost in 100% agreement about, I have been watching China for many years and understand that they are very patient and working on the "slow growth" long term road to being the #1 world super power. I was opposed to MFN status for China for many reasons, and have seen how both of the two major parties have been selling us out to Red China for many years!

    JG,

Thanks for the links. Though I think they are sometimes too close to the Buchananite position, TCC is an excellent organization. I remember the critical role they played in almost sinking the Panama Canal Treaty.

I don't agree with everything I read from TCC, but I agree with about 95% of what they put out!

Yeah, I remember when Howard Phillips took the trip down to the Canal in his efforts to save it.
