While I am no fan of a lot of what ACORN does, it doesn't really register voters. Only the government does that. ACORN submits registration forms. It is up to the government to accept or reject, based on validity, each form submitted. It is up to the registrant to submit accurate information. Any fraud would be on the registrant, not on a third party holding registration rallies.

If a citizen of the USA cannot vote, where is the so-called freedom and rights everyone yells about? I don't get it.

It reminds me of the years when a Black person had the right to vote, but had to register, and that is where the hard part was. Rights and freedoms for the right persons only.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I think if two people or parties work together with fraud as the end goal, it's a conspiracy. And if the ACORN administration is encouraging it's workers to defraud the government, I think the RICO statures would come into play.

When you commit crimes against the public then you lose your rights and freedoms if only for a time.

    Apples and oranges.

Now...I will admit that we should closely look at these laws to make sure they are consistent and just...but I have absolutely no problem with a felon serving time for violent crime such as rape and murder permanently losing all rights to vote.

That's the consequence of being a violent criminal. You don't deserve a vote. You've forfeited that right.

And that's nothing like the discriminatory laws against many blacks pre-civil rights era...
