What a choice. Fight for the oligarchs or go to jail.

Poncho come on, there isn't any draft. If you have joined the military in the last ten years you probably should be under the assumption that you are going to deploy multiple times.

The actual title of the article is US SOLDIERS OPPOSED TO WAR NOW FIND CANADA LESS HOSPITABLE

By titling this thread as he did Carpro is in effect saying, "those opposed to war are cowards".

Given that all the unconstitutional "regime change" wars we are currently engaged in both overt and covert have been sold to us by a steady stream of lies by fear mongering politicians and their war profiteering corporate sponsors on Wall Street and in the MSCM I personally believe it takes more courage to refuse to fight for the liars and thieves that have wrapped themselves in the flag and pretend to be our protectors.

There is another. Actually several others. But it starts here......

    Don't enlist.

    That's your spin.

Those who leave the country to avoid doing their duty as members of our military in time of war are cowards. Period.

The reason doesn't matter at all.

Jail is actually to good for them.

    No. It's my opinion.

I didn't try to change (or spin) the meaning of your words.

Maybe they wouldn't enlist if they understood who and what they were actually going to be serving.

Perhaps they did it as a religious objection. They've probably seen how dishonorable folks act when they get back and didn't want to sully their Christian testimonies.

Unfortunately, as UoT said, there was no draft so they can't really claim to be religious or any other type of objector if they voluntarily entered in the last 14 years.

No you just changed the title to portray people opposed to war as cowards that's all.

    You're "opinion" sounds kind of familiar . . .

Wonder where you got it from? Neocons, they can't even come up with new propaganda of their own.

I do not see this statement as factual.

    It's my title. I didn't "change" anything.

    You're looking foolish here, poncho.

    That's your spin.

I said it was "your" title. Trying to make it look like I didn't say it was "your" title when everyone can read what I said makes you look foolish.

Here's what I said . . . By titling this thread as he did Carpro is in effect saying, "those opposed to war are cowards".

Nowhere did I say you changed the title. You made up your own title, for the reason I gave and you have more less proven me right in your subsequent posts.

When you sign up for the Military you give up your life and the ability to make these decisions for yourself. Everyone is fully informed of their commitment and no one can say they did not know. There is no excuse for this behavior. You do not get to join and then think you have the ability to make the decision as to whether or not you agree it is a just war.

The truth is there have been a good number who have joined just to do this so they can make a statement. I have no use for them, I feel not sorry for them, and they are only reaping what they have sown.

"War" you say? Congress has made no declarations of war.

Funny, I didn't know that I was serving an oligarchical elite until well after I mustered out of the military.

I know it sounds all patriotic and all to tell our young people that they will be fighting to protect our "freedom" and "liberate" the oppressed masses but it's still a lie no matter how many coats of red white and blue paint you apply to it.

War is racket, it always has been. "You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig".
