I just heard that the Crimson Tide will not be able to play in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana, as had been announced.

    The reason?

    They can't get past Monroe.

    :)

i'm aware of that...i'm constantly reminding a friend who is a Tide fan about the fact that they lost to ULM; i'm referring to the I-Bowl rumor.

Monroe, Louisiana(the home of the University of Louisiana-Monroe) is west of Alabama. Shreveport is even further west of Monroe. :)

    Well, I get the joke.

A Bama alum and I had a good talk about Alabama football. He told me he felt that his guys had a lot to play for, that Saban could turn things around, and despite their recent discipline problems, that things could be reigned in at Tuscaloosa.

Then I paid him for the pizza and then he left.
